As you all know, in about a month from now the 3rd birthday of the game will come.

I’ve wanted to make a post about ideas for the 3rd birthday presents to 3 yr old characters.

Please post your ideas an opinions about other ideas that will be posted in this post. If possible post the benefits of your ideas and if it also benefits anet in anyway(to make them want to implement it more).

Let me start with my idea: An account-wide inventory bag for consumables.

How it will work:

1. Only consumables(and maybe gem store or any account bound items, but this is more of a perk that I want for it) will be able to fill its slots(soulbound items won’t be able to be put inside it slots).

2. To be able to use the bag only characters that are 3 yrs old will be able to equip it(this is to show that you were dedicated with a character).

3. Every character that is 3 yrs old will get its own copy(should be soulbound) of the bag to use(if only 1 character will be able to get it, it will defeat its purpose).

4. The bag slots will be used across the entire account, but its contents can only be viewed by character who have their own copy of the bag equipped.

5. (this one is more of a perk that i want and should be proffitable to anet as well)The slot for this bag is a special one(a 9th slot that is different from the other slots and can’t be used in any other way) that to be useable, it needs to be purchased with gems. The price should be in my opinion lower then the current price of bag slots(200 gems maybe?). Also to make it profitable for anet, the unlocking of that slot will be character-wise(each character will have to buy this slot, the same way other bag slots work).

• The amount of slots that the bag can have shouldn’t be bigger then 10(the amount depends on anet, but in my opinion 10 should be the max)

The reason behind my idea is that by playing a lot in this game, at some point people will want to make the most out of their characters, and one of the most annoying part of it is the fact that to swap items between characters, the bank is needed. Take for example Undead Slaying Potions. To use them on every character that an account have(should they want to use them) they need either to buy some for each character, which can be expensive at times, or swap them by using the bank which takes time(or even more expensive by using an express bank ticket).
The fact that only 3 yr old characters will be able to use it won’t diminish the effectiveness of the golem bankers, so no problem with that as much as i can see(especially that other items can’t be put in that bag’s slots).

Things I would /like/ to see:

• 1 Luxury package
  • Spirit Shards, Tome of Knowledge, Dark Matter, Ascended Weapon/Armor recipes (choice)
• 1 Prized Black Lion Ticket
  • Exchangeable for any 1 BLTC Weapon/Armor skin active or retired
• 1 Waypoint codex
  • when used automatically unlocks all waypoints in all pre-HoT PvE maps for a character (no XP gained)

I really would like to see the prized ticket, and the Waypoint Codex would be something people will probably be VERY happy to have when Rev. comes out (for those who have been around a while) and will help alt-a-holics and PvP players with participating in PvE content (if they want) in the meantime.

If there were such a prized ticket, the item skin would have to be account bound on acquire so I doubt that would happen.

Considering the birthday blaster was entirely unexpected (at least for me), I would think we’ll be getting something completely different than the straightforward gift of crafting mats, or weapons/armor, or even BLTC items. Chances are, Anet made unique items specifically for the birthdays.

3rd Birthday Gifts:

- A level 20 Experience scroll that doesn’t stack with 1st and 2nd year scrolls
- A Birthday Booster
- 5 Black Lion Chests (but no keys)
- A pile of 250 Bloodstone Dust

I would love a mini. I was not one of the ones who complained about the multiple Queen Jennahs. I love each and every one. I barely glanced at the second birthday gift. The rifle looks noisy and more amusing to a 12 year old than to an old and dignified person like me.

Sadly though, I think Boysenberry will be right.

The sad part is that the GW1 solution was perfect.

I think there should be a birthday present that drops:
-1 Random Recipe from all crafting groups (Armor, Weapon and Consumable)
-1 Random Mini from the recent group
-1 Choose your boost stone 24hrs (Karma, Magic Find, Gathering, Gold)
-1 24 hour morph stone…it’s a style kit where changes only last 24hrs then reverts to your main character style settings.

Why? Because they are working on the expansion and don’t have time to think about birthday gifts. They are too busy to have holidays or release old content, much less make a new birthday present.

Reason: Gemstore. Inventory items are moneymakers. They may give a mini, a toy, or a consumable but they won’t give away inventory items or Black Lion gamble tickets ‘cause that’s where the game makes its money.

Give us an empty box.

Kids have more fun playing with the box than what’s in it anyways.

Why not give us an option for a account-wide consumable only bag? Only potions and tonics and any similar stuff can be put it in. Even more if the slot for it must be bought with gems?(forget adding the gem store items or account bound items to it, it was just a perk of mine that i wanted to see)

I mean think about it they all are working on prob bug fixes for hot, they have no time to think about 3rd year so we will probably get trash.

i want endless combat tonics like in GW1
it reinvigorated the game for me, i made an ele called “Jadefire Hatchling” and played through the whole game as a mini kuunevang (using dragon themed skills)

would love to do that for GW2

I would be completely okay with an account bound version of the old Black Lion skins. I’m 5 away from finishing the sclerite collection and there are loads of other old ones I want.

But it’ll be something completely different than that just like you say. Something unique to birthdays.

I haven’t thought much about what we might get, or even what I’d like.

More than likely we’ll get another Birthday Booster, I’m perfectly happy with that (love these things)

We’ll probably get another experience scroll, although I think I would simply prefer 20 tomes of knowledge instead. Then we could use them with a bit more flexibility, and people that only have lvl 80s would still be able to use them for shards.

So that leaves 2 (possibly 3) open spots for stuff we could get.

A black lion ticket would be nice. Or maybe a dozen keys to use. Highly unlikely, but it’d be nice.

I’m not even going to suggest a mini, since I don’t need 17 copies of one mini.

Not sure what else I’d like honestly.
