So I had the Pirate Captain Outfit. I converted it and it gave me 4 consumables… Why? I can only use one for my entire account and they’re account bound. What’s the point of this? Should I just destroy the extra 3?

Once any character has an Outfit in their Wardrobe, all characters have access to it. No need to use the consumables. My key-farmers can run around with Outfits on, if they so desire. Probably will a bit closer to Halloween. Who doesn’t love Mad King Thorn? Lol.

So, really…once you have ‘consumed’ an Outfit like the Pirate Outfit, you truly can throw the others away at no disadvantage. As I said, no idea why I’m keeping my extras. =)

You certainly can, if you so desire. The program just made sure to give the consumables for each armor weight, and/or each character. It made no distinctions when giving out Outfits and/or Town Clothes. =)

Pirate Captain’s outfit didn’t become a consumable. It became a costume. It goes in a costume slot. If you have more than one character who wears it, you can chuck it in their slot.

If you don’t you can delete them. They’re free to use from the wardrobe anyway.

No, I mean it became a “consumable” which unlocks the outfit in the wardrobe.

Yeah, I have a few stored in the bank. Not sure why….just ’cause. Lol.

Sorry, mate, my bad. A consumable usually implies something that’s not there after you use it. But you can drag that into the costume slot, take it out again and put it in your bank. At least I"m pretty sure you can.

Anyway there’s no harm in deleting them, but I put mine on characters that didn’t already have costumes.

The reason you got 4 is that before the update the pirate outfit (like all town clothes) came in 4 parts. Many people bought them to mix and match and didn’t keep all the parts. So when the wardrobe update came along and they were changed into one piece outfits the easiest way for Anet to do it, to make sure everyone’s stuff got converted, was to make each piece of each set convert into a full outfit.

Since they’re account bound in the wardrobe anyway no one got anything extra, and it meant even if you only kept 1 part you got your outfit automatically and didn’t have to contact Support.
