im at 45 agony resistance and i plan to go 40 ar and swap 5 ar for +20% magic find since my amulet has utility slot. is this a good idea?

or get another amulet, put MF on it, run trash with the MF amulet and switch to AR one on boss.

yes just get 2 amuletts

I would rather do Gold Find it is way more useful IMO, I did the MF one and I will never wear it again that I got my Gold Find.

At every boss in every dungeon you get money no matter what, and b.c of that the gold find is + that % of gold no matter what.

I do lots of Fotm and it helps me out far more.

Just a suggestion, and yes Get a 2nd Amulet too
