5 tickets is fairly standard for the older sets. 3 is the cost for a soon-to-be-retired set or a recently-returned-but-newer set.

Chaos weapons are overrated anyway. They are too bright, it hurts my eyes (liked the GW1 version a lot better). Even though I’ve unlocked several already via Wardrobe Unlock (BLC), I don’t use them.

It’s okay to not like things, but there is no need to tell people who obviously do like them that they are, y’know, wrong about their personal taste.

What part of that very simply announcement was made to sound like a grand deal? I would call that announcement very subdued.

My point is that I disagree. It is a grand deal, since previously, they weren’t available at all without spending a huge premium on the TP.
It’s consistent with what they’ve done before. It has already lowered prices 30% for those willing to purchase on the TP & made it available for those who have stored up tickets waiting for an opportunity like this.
In short, it is a big deal; it’s just not the big deal some had hoped for.

In either case, just don’t support the gambling. Means either we get sensibly sold weapon skins in the future as the current monetization model fails to generate enough money, or the whole thing folds and NCsoft can find a better business model for GW3.

5 tickets.. considering you need 25 keys per ticket.. thats 125 keys if you want it (with a decent sense of certainty, you could have 0 or 20 tickets at the end of it)

that would be disregarding all the other items you will get from the chests.
If you just want a chaos weapon skin, you can just use your gems to convert them into gold to buy the skin you want from the tp.
You can also obtain black lion tickets by finishing off blc weapon skin collections.
gw2bltc has a nice overview what it costs to complete those collections and breaks down, how much a ticket costs with this method:

THe glittering weapon skin collection for example, can be completed for 600-750g and you get 7 tickets for it, so you pay around 85-105g for a claim ticket, even less, if you already have some skins unlocked. This method is a little bit more expensive compared to buying the chaos weapon skin you want directly but you unlock a whole collection of new weapon skins along the way (assuming you havent completed that collection already).

5 tickets is just insanity and disregards our ongoing feedback about reducing the level of rng in the game. Even 3 tickets would be an over the top price, but at least it would be more appropriate.
This 5 ticket requirement is unhealthy in my eyes.
Pretty sure when fused came back it was 5 too. No surprise really that ANet prefers keeping high demand skins expensive.
At least you guys can actually get Chaos skin, I opened 157 BL chest and didn’t get the stupid ele sword which I was willing to pay 10 tickets+ for but can’t cuz RNG account bound.

You can just buy gems and convert to gold to buy the chaos from TP. I guess it won’t be as kitten tickets.
Another thing to do also, whenever they change the content of BLKey, try to get the set of the current weapon you can loot in the chest, they’re about 30g each, and you get 7 tickets by finishing the set.
