So far the stuff they have showed us is not worth 50$ IN MY OPINION, that being said i will not be purchasing HOT unless they do atleast one of these
- add a character slot
- show us more stuff so it’s worth the 50$
- lower the cost
- maybe add a option for the veteran players
- all of the above

what you mean 50$ is not worth, do you have some insight about detail of content in Hot? If you don’t then how can you claim that HoT is not worth 50$.

Some must fight so that all may be free.

You can buy a character slot for 800 gems which you could buy using … 160(?) gold. Be warned that you may have to pay twice because of some weird bug, as I think I do, but that’s gold-to-gems for you.

Nobody at Anet loves WvW like Grouch loved PvP. That’s what we need, a WvW Grouch, but taller.

Well, for $50, I’d expect HOT double the size of existing game world, but ANet hardly reveal anything content wise, so it’s hard to tell it’s worth or not.

I think a lot of people have the impression HOT is just an open up version of demo map ANet used for beta, which is ~$20 worth at best, and couple with the newbie package, people think ANet is trying to double dip vets with very few additional content.

The only issue I see with the cost of the HoT expansion is that new players get a great deal because they get the original game and the expansion for $50, and the veteran players are paying for the original game again. Having already payed for the original game I feel that there should be another option for veteran players that doesn’t include the original game but instead another character slot, a reduced price or something of equal value. That way if you don’t already have the game you can pay the $50 and receive both the original game and the expansion, but those who have already bought the game can pay a similar cost and receive something of more use than another copy of the game they already own. I feel this would be a reasonable solution to the issue of cost for new versus old players and make everyone reasonably happy. I for one am excited to play HoT but at this time do not find the packages provided worth the cost to me as a veteran player.
