So I had a ton of mithril, elderwood, and T5 mats. So I decided to craft a bunch of rares to toss in the forge. I was able to make 53 rares. Tossed them into the forge, and got 2 pearl exotics back. I know 53 rares isn’t a very large sample size, but is that a decent return? Just curious….

53 rares is 13 combinations minimum, and the upgrade rate is 20%, so we would expect ~2.6 or 2-3 exotics from those combinations. I’d say you were a slight bit unlucky, but not by much. If you turned around and put all of the returned rares back into the forge, you would’ve gotten an extra 3 combinations, bringing the expected returns much closer to 3 exotics.

Yeah I did toss in the rares, but only got more rares back.
I was just curious if that was a decent return or not, but it seems it was a little on the low side.
As I get more T5 mats, I’ll try again and see what happens.

Unless you have a guarantee recipe for the forge or are trying for a precursor which is going to be near pointless after HOT comes out then there is absolutely no point in wasting items in the forge

With a 20% promotion rate, it takes an average of 16 rares per exotic. You weren’t that unlucky; the sample size is just very small.

I thought they called it the Mystic Toilet because all you do is flush s*** and get s***. Makes enough sense to me.

even vegas slots machines would give better returns because they still have to keep enticing people back.

Mystic toilet is a much better description of its role in this game

By law, Nevada casinos must on average return at least 75 percent of slot machine wagers. The reality is they return more than 90 percent, casino operators say, though they do not publicize the figures. Also under the law, they cannot modify the payback percentages while someone is playing.
