Thanks for adding this. No really. You just made the 40 Laurels + 40 Glob of Ectoplasm pretty much pointless to get. Not to mention it will take months to get 40 Laurels. What goes through your guys minds? If you was to buy 40 Glob’s it’s around 12G (on my server at least)

So again, the rule is. MAKE SURE your on the same time your guild is doing missions or miss out on easy mode to get Ascended Earrings. Good one Anet.

Its the same problem as co-authored books.

They could have made it so that you can only get these items through guild missions. Instead, they made two different ways to get the same gear. If you dont want to do the missions, you can use laurels and Ecto. Or you can do both

It is fine. Theyre giving us a choice.

You have two ways to get it. No big deal.

1/ one that’s relatively short, through group content
2/ one that takes time but is possible solo

• They plan on retroactively rewarding Laurels for non-daily/monthly achievements a few patches from now. Players will have 10~30x more laurels then before, and the prices won’t look as steep as they do now.

Currency will be printed – But prices won’t change.

quite the contrary, it is way easier to socialise in a small guild as you will likely know everyone (not necessarily in RL, but ingame) where in a big guild, you are just one of the mass

and by then they adding ascended weapons and armor too costing 1000 laurel per piece or so making it effectively be the same time consuming grind

yea about this “if your not in a big guild your screwed” arguement – you can join more than one guild for this exact reason.

Did you go to public school? If so, then clearly you know the names of every single person in your entire senior class. What, what do you mean you don’t? Why not? Are you anti-social or something?

That’s your argument in a nutshell. It’s easy to know and get social with a small group of people, it’s much harder to remember 100+ distinct individuals in a large group. Just because some people choose not to join a large guild doesn’t mean they’re anti-social.

Hate to burst your bubble, but it was stated that the retroactive rewards for other achievements might be either laurels or a completely different currency system.

Thats not the point.

Point is, if you’re in a small guild that is social and likes each other’s company through events and such, you’ll have to join a big guild just to do that content – Now that this is the case, a LOT of big guilds will start the kicking wave to take out those who pop on just for guild quests but don’t contribute to influence.

So, do you join the big guild and stay with them knowing you’ll lose your “family style” guild but won’t get kicked for not contributing?
- or-
Stay with the smaller guild and just realise you’ll not see that content for a good few months, or not at all if you’re all quite casual players?

So: they destroyed my small guild by adding this guild content for tier gear, but conveniently left me a way to grind my kitten off to get it without them.
