Guild Wars 2

Even thought there were numerous hints towards the 6th dragon, we only had 5 before the awakening of the jungle dragon. That did fit well with having 5 races, but now that we have 6 dragons will we get another race so it would be 6vs6? Very curious on this topic, I think we’ll most likely get the tengu at some point. What do you guys think?

Nope, there was always 6 Elder Dragons:

• Mordremoth (the one that you’re talking about)
• Primordius
• Jormag
• Zhaitan
• Kralkatorrik
• “Bubbles” (the deep sea dragon)

I wonder if the devs ever laugh at the desperation of a new race from its players.

They explicitly state 5v6 in the game since release, which would very much suggest that five races managed to survive 6 dragons back in the days, and thus 5 races should be able to do it again today.

I don’t quite get why there should be any connection between playable races and the number of dragons.

The dragons are more geographic as opposed to racial.

Besides, if you really want 6 races, I get number 6 would be the dwarves, who have strong ties to one dragon.

Shame dwarves are supposedly extinct.

Future playable races would possibly be the Tengu &/or Kodan.

there are way more races in the game, just not playable ones. If anything, I imagine the number of dragons and their overall nature may be somehow tied to the gods (not relating directly in numbers eg (well, no idea how the great dwarf would fit in), but I have some theory I don´t want to spoil in here).
