There are 416 pages in the Tech Support Forum, 7,488 reported crashes in the same forum, yet till this day = 0 zero solution.
I’m crashing 8 times per hour, i gave away all my report data’s, i conduct every repair, “fix” solutions, yet no changes whatsoever.
I even can run 4 of the latest mmo’s in the same time, with high settings..with 0zero crashings whatsoever.
After 15 months of guild wars 2 release, where does it end?
Arena.net, you do know there are hundreds, thousands of people who are desperate to play and enjoy this game right?
You also do know there are hundreds, thousands of your players who abruptly left this game because of your intents right?
You also realize there are hundreds, thousands of your players who invested hundreds, thousands of dollars to play this game, only to find out that they can’t play this game without having constant problems right?
To my surprise, they are even told that their new computers were outdated..
This was the first reported crash; September 4, 2012, yet it still remains)
So why are you intentionally preventing them/us, from playing this game?

I crash exactly 0 times a day unless I do something to cause it.
So if your computer doesn’t have anything wrong with it, is it mine that has something wrong with it to make it not crash?
Also, where exactly did you pull that ridiculous number from?

Are you sure your RAM is working properly? Don’t think for one second your case isn’t extremely rare.
People should simply realize that Win-32 is outdated.

What are the stats of your computer?
LOL?
0 crashes for me .

What are the stats of your computer?
Ayrilana, i would like to but not anymore; i am so very tired of doing this.
(edited by Burnfall.9573)
I crash very rarely, even though I lag. I don’t have a top notch PC, infact I am using a laptop.
There got to be a problem somewhere, but if it is really from Anet, why does it only affect some? If it is not the PC of the individual, what is it?
I am asking cause I am absolutely blank here.
I’ve yet to crash. And your unwillingness to post your specs or at least post a link to a thread where you’ve posted your stats makes me and others unable to commiserate with you and demand anything of ANet.
Or any details of what you are doing in game when you crash (since sometimes crashes are tied to a specific something happening).
Post your computer specs (or a link to a thread containing those specs) and details surrounding what you were doing when the game crashed and maybe others can begin to understand and commiserate.
As of right now, I have very little sympathy for you. Because your crashing could be related to your computer. But I have no idea if it is or is not. Because you aren’t posting anything to show us the specs of your computer.

I’m also playing on a laptop of average quality at best, and the game is stable.
There are so many different configurations – Mac or PC (running Windows/Linux) with different amounts of memory, different video cards, etc. Are the drivers up to date? Has the hard drive been defragged lately? Are there any corrupted files? What programs run in the background?
There are many things that can affect the performance of a program, it’s easy to point the finger at the devs and say “fix it!” but when they can’t duplicate the problem they can’t find a solution. It’s possible there could be an obscure bug that affects a particular video card or something, but most of the time the problem lies with the player’s computer, particularly when it’s something that is not happening to other people.
The devs’ jobs depend on people being able to play the game – no players, no job. So of course they take game-breaking bugs seriously, but when it’s an individual problem instead of a system-wide crash there’s not much they can do.

This is true.
I’m a programmer by profession and it’s really hard to fix something you can’t replicate. Skimming through the entire block of code may or may not work but it consumes tons of time.
Most of the times, the problem lies with the client, especially if the majority doesn’t experience it. Again, “most of the times” – not “always”.

He didn’t ask how much RAM you had. He asked if it was working properly, which is a completely different question. Bad RAM can make most anything crash.

Amen. Another programmer here. The problem is not always the code. I wish people would realize that.

thanks for the correction ProphetSword,
my ram is working properly and as i said before, i have no problems of any crashing whatsoever, while running new mmo’s or current mmo’s, except this one.
If that checks out, other issues that might cause regular crashes include something overheating, a driver that is conflicting with something, etc. What does it say when it crashes?

And to add on to what ProphetSword asked:
- Are your drivers up to date?
- Did you update a driver before the crashing started? Sometimes specific drivers have problems with games. I had to roll back a driver once in order to play one of the other games I own.
- What are you typically doing when it crashes?
- What zone are you in? What area in that zone are you in?
You claim it’s the code but give no details of the crashing. You can’t claim that it can’t be your computer and therefore it has to be the code. The code is the same for everyone. Especially since the game forces everyone to play on the same patch level unlike other games. But without giving ANet any details they’re looking for a needle in a haystack. So they’ll spend more time trying to figure out the bugs and such of people who post details about it.

I appreciate your willingness to help me including Seera
i had given all my crash logs, data’s to Arena.net since the beginning, so i come to the point where i no longer can repeat myself over and over again.
they are fully aware of the continuous crashes in this game, yet word alone can not fix them but action.
Action is what Hundred and thousands including myself, been waiting so long for, yet so far… none.
As the saying goes, “A man is judged by his deeds, not by his words”.
that’s all we are asking for, Arena.net
Your Action
(i know you can make it happen)

So, you created a brand new thread today, to say that you won’t repeat yourself, even though you offer no new information. Why?
The problem is not in the game itself, and therefore it is beyond Anet’s capacity to make your computer work correctly.

Crashing while attempting to logg in the client
Crashing after logging in the client
Crashes while being idle
Crashing while not being idle
Crashing while roaming
Crashing while not roaming
Crashing with the zerg
Crashing without the zerg
Crashing attempting to wp
Crashing after wp
so many and many
Seriously,
what information on that list is new?

I have no idea what you are trying to say. This thread was started by you, today. If you’re not willing to discuss the issue, why did you post this thread?
I have none of those problems. I’ve been playing this game for well over a year and I can count the number of crashes on one hand. The game itself is fine, you need to look at your particular computer, its video card and drivers, the programs you run, any possible virus infections, etc. before blaming the game for your crashes.
Because you refuse to do that, making another thread blaming Anet for your troubles is meaningless.

How many of those so called 7 ,488 unresolved issues were actually resolved just because an Anet rep or dev didn’t respond to a thread doesn’t mean they went unresolved. it is most likely they resolved there issue and didn’t bother to post how they did it or they had an overinflated ego like the OP has and just didn’t bother to try because the think their PC is perfect.

so you’re saying. the fact that, those of us who post our new computers compnents descriptions; (in hope for a solution), are boosting our “ego”?
Are you serious?
So me saying i have 16g of memory is “showing off”?
So.. what’s the point of providing any information if that’s the attitude we are getting in return?
Maybe that’s the reason why these problems are intentionally being unresolved due to the sake of ’showing off".
Lastly,
How about if some of those people completely left the game out of frustration altogether?
why would they even bother continuing posting the same problems, over and over again, and knowing that it is will always be their fault, no matter what. Oh yea! and for “showing off”?
why do you think i’ve kept silence for a time?, so to you.. during that time; the game was working fine until i reported having problems?
So let us all pretend there are no problems as long we don’t report them in the forum, everything will be fine.
In other word, the solution to this problems, including others; is to remain in complete silent.. a.k.a “shut up” or to pretend “everything is working as attended”.. a.k.a quit.
I’m not too far from doing so, as well.

Why is it Anet’s fault that a tiny minority of players have problems while several million players run the game just fine?
There is something wrong with your computer, how much memory it has, how much money it cost, how long ago you bought it has nothing to do with it being set up and running correctly.

Indeed.
If the op really has had so many crashes, its a system fault no question. Refusale to accept this fact is why they are still occurring, because the issue is not getting resolved. It is completely irrelevant if “other games” dont exhibit the same behaviour because those other games are not GW2 which is a KNOWN cpu hog and will stress a system beyond what other games will.
The fact that the OP refuses to accept this fact baffles me. I have had a grand total of 4 crashes with GW2 in nearly a year. Hell it crashing on the launcher is a dead giveaway its a system flaw and not game related.

Crashing 8 times an hour really should mean there is something wrong on your end.

Lexandro.1456 -
I completely agree.
Burnfall.9573 -
If GW2 is indeed crashing under all of the conditions listed – it’s definitely a problem with your system. Just because game X doesn’t do it means absolutely nothing. I’m willing to bet that your computer is exhibiting other symptoms too that you may not even be aware of.
Why don’t you take a look at the Windows system logs? You can get there by clicking the Start button and type compmgmt.msc (press enter). Then click Event Viewer and Windows Logs. Specifically look in Application and System. Scroll down and look at the errors. That’s where I would start.
In addition, if you believe that some other programs can run fine and GW2 won’t without there being a problem with your system; then you’ve never done any programming.
