A few simple questions for you:
Have you finished your personal story?
Did you complete all the map areas?
Have you found and tried out the jumping puzzles?
The dungeons… have you done them yet? I’d recommend joining a guild and tackling explorer mode dungeons with them. Story mode is the easier. But explorer mode you will need actual teamwork and planning to complete. It might be what you are looking for. Keep in mind, though, that dungeon rewards are currently bugged and you might not see much for your effort right now. Anet is working on a fix for it.
am in a guild ,. maybe not a good one:(
Good news for you is you an be in more than one guild at a time. You can only represent one at a time though. (Basically that just means you can only earn influence and talk to one guild at a time but you can switch between them.) I’d suggest finding another guild that does some of the explorer mode dungeons and join them too.

what do i get when i explore all areas? in my last mmo i got tile the explorer
jumping puzzles are Awesome:D but cant find all of em , so far found one
but thanks for replay
You get a giant repair bill for doing the explorable dungeons. You get 2 gifts of exploration for 100%world map completion, those are used for Legendaries which you probably won’t ever see due to the insane skill point/karma grind.
Basically, you can PVP, which is fun in short bursts or roll alts and pray they add something meaningful to the endgame in the next few months. I too love the game, but I’ve hit a standstill on my 80 and the only thing worth doing with it is sPVP, which is a very long grind as well. Dungeons would be fun IF they had better rewards. Running them 60 times for tokens for gear is not very fun and the rewards within the dungeons themselves are just horrible. Blues galore and you end up wasting more money on repairs than earning any in the dungeon itself.
Jumping puzzles have the same problem, get to the chest open it and I get a level 10 blue item and maybe a jewel that I already have 20 of in the bank. Yeah…reward system needs to be redone, me thinks.
Here are 80 (really, about 50 realistic) things to do at level 80:

“A release is 7 days or less away or has just happened within the last 7 days…
These are the only two states you’ll find the world of Tyria.”
It’s quite simple.
Other than the number in the bottom left corner of your screen increasing, what did you enjoy?
Got it?
Do that.

Congratulations ArenaNet!
I’m sorry, there’s no such thing as a hardcore player.
do map completions i completed the 70-80 zones and got half a set of 80-exotics/some rares.
You call yourself hardcore ? Go do the Exploration Mode dungeons. They are made especially for you. Average players (and sub-average players) are not allowed to do them. Heck, ArenaNet rather has us not even trying the StoryMode dungeons.
Go do dungeons. If you, the hardcore, won’t do them, then nobody won’t !

If you aim for 100% map completion like me then you’ll have been scaled down for most of your time.
WvW is one of the few things where being an actual 80 gives a real advantage, and it’s the only thing that makes me consider rushing my leveling.
It’s definitely what I’ll be focusing on when I get to 80.

What about map completion? It’s done. Can’t DO THAT anymore, now can I? Can’t level up and enjoy unlocking skills anymore or traits either, as I really enjoyed that too. So how do I continue to do that? Yeah, see the problem here? If not, too bad, it’s there.

If all you enjoy is progression then I recommend single player RPGs.
They can offer much much more because balance is a far smaller issue.
But an MMO which allows players to compete has to have caps on levels, stats, etc – it can’t have the same kind of seemingly endless progression as single player games can.
Alternatively, MMO’s designed for months or even years of progression exist. Eve being the example that comes to mind, sandbox MMOs in general but Eve would require a significant time investment to do all of the skills.

I disagree. I present FFXI as an example of having endless progression on one character. It can be done and games can be great with it. I don’t play sRPGs anymore, they just don’t have that awesome factor that I get from MMOs. Besides, I do like GW2, I just wish it had “more” at endgame to persue, that’s all. Hopefully it will come, but we don’t know for sure as they haven’t given us any sort of roadmap to future content. Once I get that, I can be happy waiting.
Any MMO with true endless progression would mean that there is no way for anyone who gets the game after launch to ever catch up to the original players.
That sounds awful.

Have you never played FFXI? It’s not like that at all. Hardly awful, if you are playing to “catch up” to other players you need to rethink why you play video games at all, IMO. That is a nice thing about GW2 and FFXI and a few others, not having to worry about being “left behind”, not that I do anyway, but for those like you I suppose, well there ya go, problem solved.
If it’s not like that then there must be an end to the progression. If there is endless progression how would someone who buys the game a year after release ever compete with someone who has a year headstart of endless progression?
And the reason I need to catch up is I play competitive games. I play things like WvW but until I get to 80 I have to deal with some skills, some quickbar slots and artificially boosted stats.

Maybe you could get a job or go to school? Seems like you have way too much time on your hands…
