i have 800+ skill points on my main character.

what will happen to them when core specialization comes ?

They’ll be converted into another currency.

The new currency will be spent on Mystic Forge crafting items.

There’s a limit on hero points. What would be the point in giving you 800 of them when you can only use a bunch, maybe 200 or less?

Or other question, what are you doing with your skill points at the moment? The only other purpose aside from unlocking skills is mystic forge items.

Perhaps they could do something similar to what they did with glory? Put up some vendors and let us exchange skill points for items like bags, kits, whatever – for the ones who gives 0 sheets about the mystic forge.

I just used all my 328 scrolls on one character today.

What’s the worst that can happen? I’d actually have to play the game I paid for to get Hero Points for my other characters?

As far as we know, we only need 465 hero points to get everything you can get with them, so any skill points beyond this would be pointless.

And it doesn’t look like any skill points will be converted to Hero Points since they are based on your character’s level and the number of skill challenges you have done on the maps.

If you don’t use the Mystic Forge, those 800+ points you have are doing absolutely nothing for you right now anyway. So nothing is changing for you. Either way they’re going to waste if you don’t want to use them to craft.

Pretty much this. What I got from the announcements was that any level 80 character would already have most of the points they need to unlock everything bar the elite stuff, and I specifically remember that one would only need to do 65 hero challenges to get the last ones. Considering there’s atm like ~300 SPs available by mapping in-game, there’s plenty to go around.

If you’re not doing anything with your skill points and you don’t plan on it, then you’re missing out. There are heaps of weapon skins available only from the mystic forge. Find something you like and go for it!
