At least it was free. I am one of the fools who has dumped a decent chunk of change into keys for real money.
It amazes me how not a single person has come out really ahead with the chests from all the videos that have been made, and the posts of people opening thousands of chests, yet fools like myself still go “maybe I’ll get lucky” and do it anyways.

I’ve learned my lesson as well. Will never spend another gem on BL keys until weapon tickets scraps are a guaranteed drop from each one. I mean, seriously, considering you need 10 per ticket, and 2-5 tickets per weapon, you’d think that making the scrap a guaranteed drop would have already hit them. People would be getting keys left and right!

I got one for Queensdale map completion yesterday and got a Chickenado Finisher. I almost passed out.
I used to hate getting Boosters out of chests, but I actually like these new Boosters. I wouldn’t have been all that excited about that Tome or the Trans Charge though (I have a lot of those from PvP)

true, there is entertainment value in it, but when you buy alot of keys with gems, that value is very dependant on what you get as a result. Cuz I think ultimately, one buys ALOT of keys hoping to beat a certain threshold of odds, and is often time disappointed in the results. I would like to see a change to this, but what change, I dont know yet.

there was that one guy who got a random key drop around level 8 when they first started, opened a chest, and got a perma bank contract, but didn’t have the money to sell it for another like month.

Ticket scraps dont even need to be guaranteed. There should be other cool stuff you get when you open the boxes, even if its parts of something.
Haven’t found any. Keyfarming with alt was better than killing 1,000,000 enemies a day for 12 years before I find one via drop.

Everybody knows the guaranteed drop requires the more linguistically proper enunciation of “Ekki-Ekki-Ekki-Ekki-PTANG! Zoom-Boing!”
I bought a few keys when they were on sale last month. I opened 5 chests (got a full ticket and some scraps) and am holding the rest till HoT to see if anything new is included.
I feel I average about a scrap per box. Sometimes I get none and sometimes I get two. Occasionally get a full ticket. Next time I decide to waste a lot of money I’ll have to track it.
I’ve gotten about 6 keys in 3 years. I’m eagerly awaiting the new improved key drop rate.

Completed 7 maps not 1 key from drops or map completion. Oh no, not buying keys to get boosts or merchant express/bank access etc… Not heard of anyone that got 1 key from the drop “increase”. Still waiting to know what was the increase. Must be so low they ashamed to mention it. LOL
Congrats on your drop. My last key drop was at the start of 2015 from a trash mob during teq.
At least with the new boosters it isn’t as bad as it was.
Although I’ve had plenty of chests since the update.
