Hello my dear fellow Guild Wars 2 players and (possibly) fashion victims!

So here is a burning issue, that has been bothering me and some of my friends for quite a while now.

We’ve seen so many complaints about the female armors beeing way too skimpy while the male ones are fully covered, clunky and (mostly) pretty horrible)

So heres the idea… Why not have the option to hide tops?
I mean… it’s summer, right? People sunbathe all the time…

Why?
Why not? We can hide helmets, gloves, shoulders… I see no reason why we would not be able to hide tops. That would open many new directions the fashion can go into!

Not-lore-friendly? Lets talk about bunny ears, glasses, scarves, flying carpets and mini llamas

“But I dont wanna look at naked norns and chars anyway!”
I’d much rather look at them without a shirt only than fully naked…

Now in all honesty.
Personally I think a very little change like that would be nice, could make characters feel very “brawl-ish” as berserkers, ninja-monk daredevils, crazy-anime reapers and everything you can possibly think of! Share your ideas.
We’ve been asking for more revealing male armors for a very very long time, and we haven’t gotten any at all, this little feature would make everyone who is craving more male skin in GW2 happy!

I guess this suggestion can also apply to female characters, then again they do have a variety of bras to choose from already, so I dont know why would they choose the ugly yellow one they’re wearing anyway

So, I am aware this will probably couse a lot of hate, flames and bumhurt people (for whatever reason), but hey! We all are entitled to our own opinion.

So what you guys thins?

There are many options that aren’t skimpy at all like the wedding and noble countess outfits among others. As for armor sets you have some nice light (human cultural t1 for example), heavy, and even medium armors.

There’s a heavy armor set in the gem store that’s quite skimpy. Gladiator set is also quite skimpy.

I’d LOVE ot be able to hide shirts actually. that’s all I need to make my char awesome
I wear medium armor as a human and it’s 99% coats and long clothes. I want something like a leather harness or something, but having the choice to remove shirt would be pretty sweet too.

Heavy male armour has more skimpy sets than medium or light, which is kind of ironic.

To be honest, I’d rather have people wear skimpy stuff than removing their tops completely. It’s tasteless.

i’d rather have some male skimpy options too, but it’s definitely more work to model new armorsets than just enabling a button to remove the top.

I’m down for characters running around in their underwear. More options are always great. And yes we do need more skimpy male armor, because right now the only options are buttcape, butt tent, or trenchcoat. Please don’t tell me there are skimpy options for males…there are none…at least not comparable to the female ones. I find it sad that it’s ok for females to show off their body, but if a guy tries to do the same it’s either the end of the world or something to laugh at.

I wish. One of the best things about Wildstar is you can hide any piece of armor. I don’t see the big deal with not allowing it. Plus I really really dislike coats and buttcapes on my Sylvari. This would remedy it. I can’t fight with all that heavy loose weight flying all over the place and getting stuck on things. Whys a tree all dressed up in such things anyways? I don’t throw heavy coats over the trees in my back yard and break their branches under it’s weight. :|

There absolutely is a skimpy option for males (at least I know and use one for my male necromancer…) And I really love that one…. No buttcape, just a sleeveless shirt, some trousers and short boots.

The issue is that are are way too little options for males, 3 or 4 in total across all 3 weights. While females have a selection of bras, crop tops and stripes barely covering anything.
Medium class even barely has any skin-tight armor pieces (also very few. Yes I know SOME exist you guys really dont have list the names, I am fully aware of all the armor sets and my wardrobe is almost filled up with every possible armor sets)
Light has clunky clothes so does heavy. Hiding the shirt would open so many options, and I don’t see a reason why it could not be a thing.

and @ham, where did you get the information about the time it takes to code things like this? As I see a post just like that in almost every suggestion thread “Takes too much time to code, not worth it!”

In general I think a feature like that would be beneficial and I dont see how would it harm anyone at all

I personally can do without a shirtless option for males. I find it vulgar, I think the English term is.
I do agree that there need to be less trench coats and shirts that leave (part of the) arms bare, for all three armor classes.

The difference between a shirtless male(also female if they happen to be charr or female) and http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Scallywag_armor is just two straps.

Scallywag is pretty much the only armor set that has a more skimpy male set than female. Rest is the opposite way – and even the scallywag still shows a lot of skin on both armor sets, while some sets are fully uncovered for female while males wear clunky stuff that covers everything and their mother….

Would be nice if you could, at least, dye the underwear.

After all, sometimes you have no choice but to show it (i.e. when you go on the beach, or put on diving goggles).
