Everyone needs to know Seinfeld. Everyone. Fix that.

Even if the woord festivus is just a gik, that doesn’t make the rest of his tale any more cohesive

It’s an American thing. A character in a TV show made up a holiday for people who hate Christmas and it caught on in real life.

The show and the fake holiday are both very well known in America and almost unheard of elsewhere in the world.

One of the “traditions” is ranting about things you don’t like (possibly as a contrast to Thanksgiving where Americans talk about things they’re thankful for) and I think the OP is trying to bring that to the forum.
