I absolutely love how they made her look that crazy even in death. That whole animation scene was just fantastic.

I honestly think it’s just the cool thing now to hate Scarlet, like Trahearne. Granted, both were warranted, but for different reasons; Trahearne was a stick in the mud who “took” the glory (even though if players read any of the text, he even says the honor goes to us and he wasn’t even there) while Scarlet was a scapegoat for the longest time (but grew into an interesting villain in the end…not great nor bad).

Though her design, mostly the face, wish it looked closer to that specific cinematic as opposed to the in-game model, which had the silliest looking chin I’ve ever seen. Seriously, even the Crimson Chin from FOP was more restrained. I do like how maniacal she looks, even in death. It’s so creepy that she’s that ecstatic even in the throes of dying to carry it over when the lights go out.

Nah, I didn’t dislike Scarlet Briar because it’s “cool” to hate her-she just doesn’t make sense to me (not even after all the facts have been revealed, actually-I bet she will end up being smarter and more powerful than the Dragon she resurrected? Remember, Zhaitan never interacted with the heroes, and came off as a dumb, if theoretically “powerful”, zombie dragon if anything.) I liked Trahearned… kinda silly and a bit sentimental, which is nice. I never had “hero envy” with him, and he never really appears like the arrogant hero type, even during his later statements. So I don’t hate Trahearne, but did dislike Scarlet for the silly power and “wits” she was granted even to her death (in short, too powerful for just a normal, Sylvari character.) I disliked Scarlet before I learned it was the “cool” thing to do in these forums, while I never really disliked Trahearne.

If it was dragon energy making her more powerful, then perhaps it’s more logical to me… but as it stands, I can’t relate to the super smart, super charged Sylvari that came out on a rampage from wherever she came from. It’s just too much, no offense to her writers (really, many love her so I don’t mean to insult their work.)

As much as I dislike Scarlet and Trahearne, both still have one thing going for them: they’re not Kormir.

I’m not at big fan of killing people to show people how wrong is to kill people.
I thought that Kas (because of Jory) would kill her, but I had to stomp her even if I didn’t want to.
Yeah it’s a game where you kill almost any kind of enemy, but at least for really important decisions like this I would have liked a choice (they could have circumvent future dialogues problems talking of how “we”, as a group, defeated Scarlet).
But I understand why anet did this, so many people hated her and wanted the satisfaction to press that F button, this and also the expressed need to feel more like a protagonist of the story, it’s just that I was not so angry at her, I wanted to imprison her or at least try with no success to convince Kas that we need her alive to collect more informations.
Anyway what’s done is done. Again, no hating on anet, because at least they gave to players what so many of them they asked for.

Fixed it for you ^^
Oh yes, for many of us it was pure satisfaction for sure.
Me including, but not really because I hated her, but more of, because it was really enough, another patch with her and I wouldn’t have known, what I’d do with the game.
The story around her was really extremely underwhelming and I could have thought about something alot more epically to awake basically Mordremoth, than all the weird stuff Scarlet did, just to come up now out of a sudden with that giant drill, just to open up the earth through the ley lines to make up for enough energy to cause such a massive earth eruption that reaches from Lion’s Arch to the Maguuma Jungle.

The whole story around her is so bad, because it became from patch to patch quickly more and more predictable, what her goal is.
A maniac schizophrene real good villain stays 100% unpredictable until the end and comes up with always something unpredictable, even if all your clues that you have seem to be valid points that seam to look like pointing to just one reasonable act to happen. If then theres no surprise anymore, the hot air is out of the baloon and the villain becomes boring, once you can predict everything whats most likely to happen, before it happens

However, the games overall story telling so far isn’t really the best when you look from that moment on, when you meet the first time Trahearne to the finale of the personal story with the most ridiculous dragon battle, that I’ve ever seen in my whole life to the new epidome of story badness, that is Scarlet.

Story got in GW1 alot better presented, I don’t know, how such a story quality downfall could just happen to GW2, cause as far as I know, it are still the same people at Ante that are responsible for the GW2 story, which were also responsible for the GW1 story. The only story stuff, that doesn’t come from the Devs so far as i know are the first 2 novel books, that were written by non GW2 devs, but instead by well known book authors, where I have to say, that they did with the first 2 books a very great job

If the storytelling of these two books would have been more like the personal story in regard of story quality, I think something like that terrible Zhaitan Battle or that Trahearne takes all the glory wouldn’t have happened and I go also so far to say, if they would have been responsible for the first Season, we also wouldn’t have seen Scarlet at all and the ruin behind the Thaumanova Reactor which has been brought extra into connection with her, just so that they have a little new puzzle piece as explanation therefore, why Scarlet did, what she did …

I think the Thaumanova Lore could have been a 10000 times better, without that silly unfitting Scarlet Connection!

Just to think about it, that we wasted for that junk the option to see the tyrian gods against Abadaddon in action, makes me mad.
Even if its lore, that we already know the outcome from, it still would have been alot more interestign to see it in action and it would have been something, that would have been impossible to brign into connection with just Scarlet >.>
