A Way to see if a Dev has read our Post

There is no way of knowing unless they replied or if the post was an aggressive rant, suspension.
I only look at five of the boards here, and daily there are hundreds of new threads and posts. Most of these are self help, players responding to other players. Now if you are talking about suggestions, making a topic that is noted as a suggestion say in the title, would likely get it read by someone at ANet. But expect every post to get read, no. Topic skimmed, maybe depending if it’s been seen before and how often.
But the problem with topics on this board is there’s usually two equally sized groups shouting at one another about how the other group is wrong in their opinion. PvP Vs PvE Vs WvW balance. Economy issues. Inclusion Vs Exclusion. Casual Vs Hardcore. Etc. If I was ANet I wouldn’t acknowledge the lot of you for fear or raising the ire of one side or the other.
But I’m sure they are measuring the temp so to speak and these changes coming up next month may be a result of them listening. Sure it’s going to generate a whole new pile of polarizing topics but in my opinion if both sides aren’t happy about the changes for different reasons, you’re doing something right.
RIP City of Heroes
Sometimes I find myself writing long posts instead of writing school papers and find myself asking “will this ever be seen by someone that actually has any say?”
Yeah don’t do that.
Anyway on point: The problem with that is is that we might end up with people doing the attention kitten thing. Purposefully posting negative or flaming comments and feeling good about themselves because a “dev have read this”-icon has appeared.
Moral boosting yes, but not sure if the negative outweighs the positive.
That’s not going to be implemented because then it would come to light that the devs do not read our comments. At all. This is not a jab at Anet though. Go to the forum of any given game and realise that the company and the playerbase has different ideas of what would be good for the game.
Reading comments and agreeing are two vastly different things.

Don’t worry, I always get around to the writing, just always at the last minute :P.
I probably should have been clearer, the dev would have the OPTION to mark something as read, they just didn’t write out a response.

The thing is, they believe that they know what’s good for the game so they won’t waste time going through the forum, reading either suggestions or complaints. Even the CDI topics saw little sign of a higher-up reading all comments and those were initated by the company themselves. If this got implemented, that would become apparent and that’s bad PR.
