Am I imagining things or did the update just now change the Field of Vision? I swear I can zoom further out and/or see more on my screen now. I don’t know whether I’m just seeing things or what. Was there a change at all? I think this will keep annoying me

You are not alone i am noticing a change in FoV as well. I am wondering if it’s just a glitch or if they really changed the FoV if so it would be nice to just add a FoV slider to the game.
I did a double take as well. Couldn’t figure out if it was just my imagination.
Still seems different to me, I feel like I’m going mad x.x

I dunno … GW2’s vertical FOV has always been so darn horribly constricted. When I logged in yesterday after the patch, something felt very odd on an almost subliminal level. Not sure if it’s my imagination either.
I just wish … really wish they would add some option to customize the FoV and the centre point of the camera in terms of it’s height. Judging by previous posts from the devs, it seems like implementing even the smallest little feature, is a logistical nightmare … it’s like “management by committee” almost. A real pity.

Yes, I’m not referring to the one a while ago. I meant the one that happened with this new patch or at least it feels like it has changed to me I can’t pinpoint what has changed but when I logged back into the game last night after the patch hit it seemed changed to me.

I’m in the process of testing this right now. I’ll post some screenies soon. Hopefully that will answer the question.
Just compare pre- and postpatch screenshots. That shouldn’t be too hard.
I doubt you will see a response saying that it was broken or changed with this last patch. At the very best, if it was changed, maybe it will be changed/fixed back in the next few patches. So many thing are broken with each patch, it’s hard to know what’s going on. It’s akin to shooting in the dark. There’s a reason other games utilize test servers.

Thanks, I just realized I still use -testVerticalFov but I didn’t notice a difference when I turned it off. I guess I am really imagining it… weird… I shall go bang my head against a brick wall for being silly

The Mod said “documented changes”. Doesn’t mean something was not broken. This game has a lot of undocumented changes, lol. But alas, maybe it’s just my imagination as well. Looking forward to comparing those screen shots.

Actually I think I know what might’ve been causing my confusion. When the build hit last night I was at the grand piazza area and they obviously just put back the Lion statue.
Maybe somewhere in the back of my mind it felt like the FoV changed subconsciously so I then started thinking there were changes everywhere but it was maybe just the change with the statue causing a difference in depth. Probably is related to too much playing…
