Guild Wars 2

So I have decided to come back to GW2, I played for about 1-2 months after release and for PVP only so I never got to experience the actual world.

I have been theory crafting builds for weeks and have come up with 2 different ones that sound extremely fun to me. My question is which do you find more valuable to your high level fractal GRP/WvW?

A Tanky Axe+Mace/LB Warrior which provides group heals and boons through shouts?

or

A remotely Tanky Grenade Engineer which provides 100% 25 stack vulnerability, massive AOE damage, as well as group condition removal?

That warrior build is horrible. Banners buffs >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> shout buffs, “tanky” is pointless, and the heals you provide are still puny.

Since you gave only 2 choices, the 2nd wins by default.

Full berserker for fractals because its PvE content
And balanced build for WvW knight armor with berzzerker trinckets with 20 pts in defense .

PvE will always be berserker so it’s better to switch sets when you go to WvW

Don’t listen to these peeps, and don’t go full zerker, zerkers are mindless peons. Fractals isn’t a normal dungeon and you do need support, especially in the higher levels, I used a shout build for awhile on my war but changed it up, I use my guard now, not sure what wars run, I would ask around your server, maybe join a guild, dont ask here, to many trolls, you wont get much good advice here.

As far as WvW goes, Season 1 is upon us, Warriors are boss atm if you know what you are doing on them, and it’s every server for themselves. Good luck.

If you can’t survive in zerker gear it dosen’t mean no1 can . If you use a shout warrior build in PvE … what can I say ?

Don’t listen to this. Yes you need support in fractal, but support != tank gear/heal gear. You can have all the reflect, all the block, all the knockdown without a single point in those stats. For a warrior, your support for the group is banner, might, vulnerability etc.

You tell him not to listen to me and then tell him pretty much what I said, ok, and knockdowns don’t work on bosses, so they are kinda useless in dungeons and fractals, they work on trash though, thats it.

And play the char how you want to, it isn’t fun unless you’re having fun, so make sure you’re playing a class you like and a build you like.

Fractals and WvW have almost diametrically opposed needs when it comes to builds.

you cannot use the same build in both and expect to be efficient.

Yeah it sucks. The sucky part about Warrior is that their PVE weapons are crap in WvW and their WvW weapon is crap in PVE (GS/Hammer respectively)

The higher the fractal level, the more damage you need. Don’t listen to people who tell you not to use zerk in high level fractals; it is still the optimum.

Also, please just make two builds. Keep your WvW build in WvW, and keep your PvE build in PvE.
