A critique, but not on the story.
In the past, rare stuff like this threw the market into a spin. Anet is trying to make it so that if people want the weapons they have to do the content.
They’re not “that” rare I don’t think. I’m pretty sure most people don’t realize opening chests in higher tiers give you more chances at getting one, which may be why they’re not getting them.
I’m on my sixth right now. But I only open chests on Tier 4 or higher.
Oh. I didn’t know the Tier affect the loot in chests. Hmmm.
Is there any official statement confirming this? I’m not saying you are wrong, just wondering where the information came from.

I didn’t know that, but it could explain why I found it fairly easy to get one. My normal process is to do all the events to try and get the map as high as possible, then if we get to T4/5 I trade in my geodes for lockpicks just before the sandstorm starts and use them immediately.
If we don’t get to T4 I don’t buy lockpicks and so don’t have any to use.

Well, I count how many items I get out of chests, on average. You don’t have, as far as I know, a higher drop rate. But I do get more items on the average from higher level chests. And that would seem to indicate I’d get extra rolls.
Oh, ok, cool. I have such a hard time finding the chests I just look whenever there is a Sandstorm. I found my one…that’s enough for me. Just need to buy the recipe…sigh.
Hold down the ctrl key when you look around. And remember where you find them. There are 30 or so locations and they always appear in one of them.
Also in higher tier sandstorms it seems there are more chests available.
I do hold down my CTRL key. Lol. Remembering? Not so easy for the aged and infirm. Haha! I have a hard time knowing where I am with no landmarks.
