I found this weird mechanical object in Gendarran Fields, and I know I’ve passed by this spot multiple times before and it wasn’t there. What exactly is it? I assume it has something to do with a Living Story I missed.
It has no name, and when I interact with it, it goes “KABOOM.” It looks like some kind of steam creature portal…
It’s above the Quaggankeep Channel POI for anyone who wants to see it.

It’s been there since the Scarlet invasions began. It was one location of an Aether drop and apparently the anti-Scarlet forces haven’t been miffed enough about it to melt it down for scrap.

Actually, that one is different from the Energy Probes mentioned in the post above. I think it had to do with a quest that Vorpp (or maybe another NPC) sent us on, but I can’t exactly remember.

Regardless, it is an artifact left from a previous Living Story release.
