Instead of nerfing take root actually leave as it is or rather nerf it slightly. Also, buff all the other racial skills to be equally viable with existing ones for various situations and scenarios.
Then put a pack in the gemstore which unlocks you some bite size quests that allow you to experience the way of other races and unlock their racials ( for example human using take a root or asura going bearfor. I mean, sylvari have been known for being curious and alot dont follow the tablet’s words so it could work that some sylvari or what ever race they would want to learn of the other race’s way of life.
It wont be p2w since lvling is really easy and you can make a race if you want to be abit better at what role you looking for. While who ever doesnt want that can spend some gems to buy the pack (which is character unlock only) which allows him to do some bite size mini quests (like the caladbolg one) to unlock the other racial skills in the game.
I beleive it will also boost the gemstore sale quite a bit ^^
I personally dont really find it lore breaking coz if ppl’s free will in the lore and they can be a believe of kormir or w/e if they so wish. And who ever disagress with that lets not forget about Revenants.
