Minigames. These little games within games. I remember complaining that a lot of games completely lacks them. GW2 has introduced like 10 different mingames at least, but they’ve all been TEMPORARY.

If we can’t get to keep them all, how about at least a FEW? I really did enjoy snowball fights, winter jumping puzzle, sanctum sprint, avatar arena, and so on and so forth.
I think his would increase the games longevity, as players could break the pace with some minigames. Is anyone in favor of this?

sanctum sprint and aspect arena are still in, though on a rotation, and that other one. The others will come back with their holidays so it’s not so bad.

Their holidays? That’s bad, maybe I don’t want to wait for a year before having another go?

Besides, if they recycle content like that then they will be blamed for being uncreative.

partially correct. There’s a rotation, but the activities on the rotation are supposedly Sanctum Sprint, Southsun Survival, Crab Toss, and Keg brawl. Aspect Arena is not in the rotation. Furthermore, 4 activities have been cycled into the slot so far for being available to play.

Tuesday from patch to 8 EST: Sanctum Sprint, Tuesday to Wednesday: Southsun Survival, Wednesday to Thursday: Crab Toss, and Thursday to Friday: Sanctum Sprint. Keg Brawl hasn’t yet appeared on the rotation for some reason ;c

While the activities are on rotation, I think making them time gated still is a very crappy way to have them in the game. They’re supposed to be a leisurely activity done at your own pace, at your own whim. Not some tight schedule where if you couldn’t be on that day, you’re SOL for 72 hours.

Edit: Also note, Keg Brawl was a permanent activity in the game since launch before this update.

The problem is, if they were permenant, after a few weeks, people would struggle to find other players as the novelty wore off. The sad fact is, the majority of players are likely playing for achievements and not the fun of them.

Sprint, Dragon Bash and Crab Toss all tailed off at the end of their cycle as ppl got quickly bored. Bringing them in selectively keeps them fresh and alive with players

Please refer to this thread for my argument in its entirety.

@OP I’m certainly in favor of mini games being in as a permanent addition; the only reason I kept playing this game was because of Keg Brawl. Personally, I hated the leveling process. All I could really do effectively was PvE to level when i first started this game, but I honestly didn’t get my first 80 until late October after 250+ hours of on-off play on my Guardian.

Because the majority of that time was spent playing Keg Brawl in between, as the actual only fun experience I had for a while. Sure, there were events in PvE that became my favorites, but I couldn’t repeat them all the time :/ The Iron Marches assault on the brand chain isn’t going forever, neither is the Ash Horizon always attacking Sparkfly. But Keg Brawl was always up and available, so that was what I did when I needed something to break the grind.
