Now before someone says look at Google, and countless of guides, the main reason im asking this now is because gold farming changes often as far as I can tell and guides get outdated.

I’m basically looking for the best stable gold income possible in this game, as i’m getting gaps in my gameplay that I could fill with gold farming.

Now i’ve never had much gold even though i’ve played since Launce, my max capital has never really exceeded 60G

So besides flipping in which I suck(mainly because I fail at remembering economy prices) what is a good stable way to make gold at the moment, and how much gold per hour could someone get?

I hear dungeon dailies and farming lootbags in Orr is good, but is that all there is?

Thanks in advance

In my opinion dungeons are the best way to make money. There are lots of “little” ways to make money. If you farm foxfire clusters, you can make plant food every day, and that sells for between 2-3 gold. Gathering is always a decent source of incoming anyway. Platinum, Hard Wood, even Soft wood isn’t bad. And iron.

If you don’t like group play you can follow the world boss chain around and salvage or sale the rares (and maybe exotics you get). It’s another way to make some quickish money.

What kind of gold income are you looking for? I get 10ish gold per game play, others get more, others less. Depends on what you want the gold for. I really don’t have a plan so I just dump excess gold into gems and wait for something I like.

It’s not like i would look for a precursor but there are certain exotic weapon skins on the TP that I love but don’t get because the price range is between 25-100gold which I could pay If I spent every penny on them but I can’t do that considering how slow I gain money

I’m also going for more armor sets to improve my pve gameplay but if im looking at 10g for a sigil when I need 6 for armor alone then I have a problem

So Yea nothing legendary but I do need money, gems would be nice too…..

Besides all this having money is never a bad thingeither

Ps: I do all the world events daily already

Sounds like you want dungeons then, armour and sigils taken care of at the same time. Teq gives really good karma which can be turned into gold or used for armour. A lot of the world events are good only for the rare they give so maybe take some focus off them unless you want one of the big score collectible items.

Farming dungeons or Fractals has been the most stable source of ingame income for me. Other choices (but not as stable) are EOTM farming, TP flipping, and crafting.

Playing since launch =/= playing 24/7

Dungeons are probably your best bet. Not only do you get gold, but you also get tokens which you can use to exo armour for dungeons that are lvl <68. For the 68+ dungeons you can get cheap rares that you can salvage for ectos.

For example a full ac run nets you 180 ac tokens which you can use to buy a soldier helm with. Getting a insignia from it is another 2-3g and they do drop frequently from the salvage.

Back then people used to farm karma and open orrian boxes, however I quit the game when my guild broke up and and I left the game several times for longer periods of time.

Also if I have a clear objective in mind I can do it for longer periods of time, for instance I didn’t mind getting 40 levels on my mesmer by doing eotm for 10 hours straight as my goal was clear and I knew what I was going for.

Meaning that besides dungeons I could farm 10 hours if I get a straight goal for X gold per hour if I put my mind to it.

I do have 850K karma but I don’t know how it transalates into gold as I keep hearing its not worth it.

My magic find is only 90% as well so im wondering if investing in salvaging ectos is a good idea

Anyhows thanks for the responses so far

Run the easily puggable dungeons such as SE13, AC123, COF12. Those paths just there will net you over 10g not including tokens.

Honestly,

you don’t have to play 24/7 to realize that everything gatherable, droppable is bringing money.
Hence, market and needs for all kinds of gatherables and droppables is much much higher than in other games.

i.e. – anything that you drop, brings money. Sooner or later, you’ll notice you’ve gained golds, and not just couple but even tens.

not bashing or laughing.

I don’t grind, because I dislike it. I just do couple of simple daily tasks and they bring me 40~60g a day. Where i exchange 20g everyday for Gems.

This game has really such a soft and easy way to obtain ingame currency.

You can convert that amount of karma to ~85g by getting blue gloves from the Blightwater Basin heart (bottom left of Blazeridge Steppes) and throwing them into the forge. Then salvage those for cotton and linen scraps. So if you need some gold without much effort you could do that.

This is exactly what I need, so which daylies are you talking about besides most likely dungeons and world events, unless you prefer to keep it to yourself

In any case in a couple of hours ill be trying most of the above here and see where I get from there

Playing the TP is hands down the easiest and most profitable way to make gold. It takes a few weeks of research and trial and error to get to grips with in my experience but after that it’s consistent income at varying rates without dictating the way you play the game.

If your having adventurer problems I feel bad for you son, I dodged 99 arrows till my knee took one.

World events, some dungeons.
D/e exotics with Black Lion Salvage Kit – you can get it from dailies – I did and still have plenty of packs.
D/e all rares, blue, green, whities. Increase MF, get craft mats, sell in broker.
Npc stuff to npc.
Runes to broker etc.

Imo, everything you don’t need and can be put in broker for higher value + broker fee than vendor, goes to broker.

Eventually you’ll notice yourself that selling those even laughable 3silver worthy stuff bring you loads of golds altogether.

I don’t mind sharing it, because the more people practice it, the better supplied broker is.
And this is what we all should work on, on keeping broker highly supplied.

Run the easy dungeons like AC 123, SE 13, CoF 12, HoTW 1 and TA Up.

With CoF and HoTW tokens, buy the cheapest rare light armors and salvage for silk and ectos.

With AC, SE and TA tokens, buy the cheapest exotic light armors (choose soldier or rabid stats) and salvage for insignia, silk and ectos.

Honestly, dungeon runs are actually pretty slow for gold farming.

The 3 best ways to get gold in GW2 imo:

Flipping
You need to know what you’re doing & you need some gold to start, otherwise it’s not worth it.

Farm runs
I’m not talking about exploits in Orr, etc. (those usually only last for a few days). There’re decent farm spots all over Tyria. On average you will get 15-30g/hour depending on your group size, magic find and luck. I’m not going to tell where to farm though, otherwise those spots would be crowded within a few hours. Google and the GW2 wiki should be able to help you.

Crafting
The regular weapon/armor crafting is not worth it but if you have some recipes which are not available anymore you can get a lot gold by crafting & selling those items. It doesn’t work with every recipe though.

You could always spend a hundred bucks on Gems, & convert them into gold. It’s not all that practical, but it’s the easiest. Think of it as a 6 month fee.

I hear dungeon dailies and farming lootbags in Orr is good, but is that all there is?

You could also karma train in EotM, though that’s a bit volatile to how your team does and the profit probably won’t be amazing. You get quite a few champ bags and if you’re low rank, you’ll rank up pretty fast, which nets you something like 10-20 silver for each rank. Plus you can liquidate the karma (there is a guide on how to make money off of karma somewhere – I forget where).

In addition to Orr, there is usually a champ train in Frostgorge, as far as I know. There is sometimes karka trains in Southsun (you can sell the shells). You can farm in Dry Top to some extent, by following the event trains there and open Buried Chests during sandstorms.

You can follow the world bosses (there are trackers for the times); all of them give at least one rare.

Oh and if you’re killing a lot of stuff, be sure to go through your material storage every so often and sell the mats that you aren’t going to use. That stuff can add up to quite a bit of coin.

Or words to that effect.
