I have just started playing GW2 and have a problem about the map display.
I remember there should be 1 or 2 windows on the upper left corner of the map (the big map screen) which i think is about world completion percentage or something like that… but today when I get into the map screen the windows are gone! I try different things in options but still cannot retrieve the windows back….
Can anyone help please?

Your account/character will unlock Map Completion information/display at Level 15.

Welcome to Tyria, and good luck!

Oh thanks! That was worrying me. Then I must have seen that window in some tutorial videos in youtube and mistaken I used to have it in game!

No, it is part of the NPE released only recently. So, you probably encountered it previously.

Good luck.

It was considered “too confusing” for new players, so they locked it until higher levels.

Priorities!

A lot of things were apparently ‘too confusing’ for new players, so they decided to make everything more confusing by hiding them until a certain level which I have ONLY seen that this stuff confuses players more than anything.

Quite the annoyance, really…

Particle effect slider would be ‘too confusing’

Wait until you come across a skill point and can’t do anything about it…for no reason you can fathom unless you google or read carefully through the release notes. Lol.

Unless that’s been fixed. Dunno.
