Hey guys,

I’ve got 100% world completion on 2 of my characters and have no intention of getting a legendary weapon any time soon. Even if I do, I doubt I’d ever find the patience to get more than one.

This got me thinking about the Gift of Exploration that you get for 100% world completion. Maybe it could have another use? Maybe you could use one on an alt character to automatically unlock all waypoints for them? No experience reward, just the waypoints.

I like having a lot of alts but I don’t like running to every single waypoint for each character. I haven’t thought this idea through fully, so there’s bound to be some glaring issue with this, but I thought I’d post it to see what you guys think of this.

Thanks.

hmmmmm, not a good idea imo. though with some alterations my issues can be removed.

The first issue is fort trinity. The nearby cave has a lot of ranger pets that should not be unlockable that early.

The second is that even if you are in an area where you are underlevel, you often can get a few poi’s and vista’s and even communepoints around each waypoint.

The third is world boss leeching. you waypoint, you put a few hits in, get killed and wait for the chest.

So I’m ok, but only if all waypoints get a level requirement. using this item will unlock them , but if above your current level they remain locked for you untill you met the level requirement or when you discover them the regular (wichever comes first)

I like the idea that we could get new rewards from them but then again there are people like me who have 100% on pretty much all of our alts. What then would there be for us since we would already have all the way points unlocked lol? We need more ideas people.

Since when did this business of being a hero become being a business?

I was hoping for a reaction like this; ideas to expand on my initial thought.

I definitely agree with the level requirement idea though. I’d never thought about the Ranger pets and world bosses.

Lets hear more ideas!

Ranger Pets: What’s so special about those pets that make them so overpowered at lower levels?

If they are so easy to get to when under leveled, why the argument against using Gifts of Exploration to unlock them on a different character?

World bosses: If someone who is willing to sit and wait 10-15 minutes for a world boss to die while they are dead, then what’s the big deal with them getting a rare that’s most likely not going to sell for more than 30s if even that. And that’s assuming they do enough DPS to be counted as having participated!

So I don’t see the reason that Gifts of Exploration can’t be used to unlock way points on a character. I think it’s a great idea.

The first issue is fort trinity. The nearby cave has a lot of ranger pets that should not be unlockable that early.

All of the pets available near Fort Trinity are also available in the racial capitals or in the starter zones.

The third is world boss leeching. you waypoint, you put a few hits in, get killed and wait for the chest.

If you’re underleveled to a certain point (I think five or more levels below the event?) you will receive zero credit no matter how much you participate. So this isn’t a problem either.

+1 OP.
