A whole new low
That’s hilarious. Well, in a bad way.xD
This game is seeing a whole new brand of bots. This could be in part to the new mechanics the game introduces, like getting exp from rezzing like in your example (and every profession can resurrect). So I suspect we will start to see all sort of unexpected botting schemes surfacing as time goes by, because this game offers new scenarios for people like these to exploit.
You have to give Anet time to adjust to these “innovative” exploits. I remember in WoW when corpses would not disappear from main cities, gold sellers would spell their websites with their bodies and fly around as well… Those may have not been bots, but they were exploiting a game mechanic and it took that company some time to fix it.
A bot suicide cult. That’s certainly different.
they should start run along some memory/process scanner within the client… really, soon… :/
I saw the same thing in the Charr area the other day. A line of bots were just dropping off of a cliff with one bot staying at the bottom, they would all raise each other and then run right back up and jump again.
While I agree it’s irritating to see stuff like this, I just want to point out that these types of problems are not exclusive to GW2.
Heck, in WoW, I used to walk into Stormwind and.. right there in the plaza area between the entrance, bank, and auction house.. we’d have hack users teleporting their characters up into the sky and allowing them to fall and die on the pavement below. They would do that uncontested by Blizzard’s support, hundreds of times, until they spelled out their gold-selling website in huge letters via carefully placed corpses – right there on the pavement in Stormwind for everyone to see.
Between the hacks used to control their elevation in the air, and the time spent on their advertisement for gold selling.. there was more than enough to be frustrated about. And it went on in all the different cities for weeks. It was simply ridiculous. It leaves you wondering “how can this huge company be so powerless to stop it?”. And that was Blizzard in its prime.
Lol, i saw the bodies spelling stuff out in Org as recently as Wrath. The only thing they do is make the bodies disappear. A large amount if bits means the game is successful. Plus all the fancy new mechanics means botting is even more if a problem.
wow that certainly is… innovative o.o but… for exp? why?? in this game, its so easy to hit lvl 80 =/ that’s one thing im never gonna get, paying another player for him to enjoy the game for you =/ imo the leveling process is much more enjoyable than life after lvl 80.
I wish the ‘players’ behind the bots would do a similar thing.

First off… Whaaa! Bots you say?! With crazy names?! Duping the system?! Sentence fragments?!
Anywho, they’re disrespecting the company? Really… come on. There ruining a game because people in that game are throwing cash at them to do it. I doubt any one of them is even thinking about the company. Also, there’s are a ton of bot threads. Did we need this one? Anet is either doing something about the bots at this point or there not. Either way, repeat threads aren’t doing anything but cluttering the forums and urging fanboys to create more pointless threads about how everyone needs to lay off Anet. Wait… am I doing that? Am I a fanboy?! Oh god no! No! It burns!
At any rate, yes they are annoying. They kill immersion, ruin events, and make the whole game feel empty and hollow. So… yep, that’s a thing that should go away.
Now if you don’t mind, I need to get back in game, my best friends myobjjj and ryobjjj, are going to teach me the merits of repeatedly running face first into a cliff wall. They’re really quiet guys, but I think that’s cuz there shy.
Hi,
The official bot thread can be found here. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/On-Botting-and-What-We-re-Doing-About-It/page/13#post377170
