So .. About transmuting skins to AC weapons, to get the glowy effect at night.
I was wondering if you guys could help me to find out wich skins it works on, and the ones it doesn’t work on.

So far I have tried with Zenith, Vision of the Mist and Sovereign. It only worked with Zenith..
However .. It appears that it sometimes bugs out and you have to re equip the weapon before the effect appears again, so not absolutely sure if it doesn’t work with vision and sovereign, since they have been salvaged by now.
If you have tried yourself, then please post your success and failures in this topic.

I think you may of been misinformed. There is no mixing of skins. The glow at night from the Ghastly weapons is part of the skin. If you put a new skin on it you loss that glow.

He’s talking about a bug.
If you transmute a skin with visual effects on an Ascalon weapon, at night the effect of the second skin will be multiplied.

Then you need to ask yourself how I got the Zenith staff on the picture to glow xD

You still don’t get the glow from the Ghastly weapon. It just bugs the new skin. The Zenith staff always has a glow.

I know it’s not the same look as AC ..
It just makes the new skin glow much more than it usually would .. I posted without glow and with glow, look for yourself.
If you really can’t see any difference from looking at it, then I really can’t explain it to you 8D

Sigh. He never talked about somehow fusing the effects.
The Zenith staff always has a glow but applied on a Ascalon staff, the effect will be much more visible at night.

I already wait for people demanding refund if it ever get fixed

EVERY MMO is awesome until it is released then its unfinished. A month after release it just sucks.
Best MMOs are the ones that never make it. Therefore Stargate Online wins.

So, weapons with effects applied to AC weapons are more intense? This only at night?

Haha, now if I could just get the normal AC weapons to lose their blue glow permanently I’d be set..

No, it’s more a bug where the effects of both the AC weapon and weapon skin applied to the AC weapon somehow stack together to produce a more amplified glow. However, this only works in night time areas where the AC effect kicks in. Otherwise it looks more or less the same

That’s how legendary weapon effect should look like, eg : Incinerator + AC weapon ’s

But not the current state…

Just wanted to let people know that Anet have patched this :¨¨¨/
DO NOT TRY THIS METHOD ANYMORE, IT WON’T WORK.
I can’t really understand how they could prioritize this? Many people still haven’t gotten their wvw chests afaik. With all the bugs in the game it seems weird to work on one that a big part of the playerbase actually enjoy.
This was a really cool “feature” that gave some more depth to the weapons.
I really hope the reason you removed this was because you are working on more nightime effects for weapons. Many of us clearly want this , make it happen!

Juggernaut, Incinerator and Frostfang had the most profound effects with this, and most of them need to become standard. Juggernaut had a big halo of ripple effects that I could do without, plus the hammer itself belched quicksilver any time I moved, stowed or not, swinging it or not. it looked amazing. Now it’s back to its old boring self.
