I was there actively attacking my hardest from 100 to 0… avoiding stuff and staying alive… DPSing as hard as a level 63 mesmer can… and I get rewarded nothing for it.

Good Game….. why should I sit here farming/participating for 50 others while getting no reward for it?

I am not AFK. I am there and working… I set an alarm to actually participate in the event too… that is twice now that I’ve participated and gotten nothing.

How is that FUN? HINT: it’s not fun. And yes: I’m angry. Why shouldn’t I be angry?

I don’t care dude. My understanding is the design is meant more to prevent AFK farmers on the event vs only rewarding 50 people.

Besides… I heard this small thing called: “We won’t waste your time… we know that we are going to pull you away from your friends and family and in doing so, we respect your time… your time is valuable to us and we just want you to have fun.”

How is this fun or a wise and valuable investment of my time?

You can defend this kitten as much as you want to blindly… but you cannot argue that fact. THEY PROMISED. THEY PROMISED us that this bullkitten wouldn’t be in the game… and ohhh look… there is it. Not even mentioning the bugged out events including skill events… that I lose out on XP every kitten day. That aside… this chops at my nerves. I AM THERE NOT AFK AND I GET SQUAT.

You participated in an epic battle with a massive world boss that included fifty other players fighting to save Tyria, and it was all for not because you didn’t get a few pixels from a shiny, mysteriously appearing box?

Chill out…… yeah ok…. I’ve wasted 6 hours waiting today. Chill out? Sure I was going other activities but still: I wanted to kill the dragon. That was my main goal. And get some loot.

I was there from start to end.

Go on: defend it. You know it… you know what they said to us leading up to this game’s release. You want to play devil’s advocate and be an arenanet groupie: fine. But you cannot refute it… they made a promise. And I feel with the bugges events and ESPECIALLY this dragon nonsense that my time is NOT valued… that my time is NOT being considered… and that makes me angry as a client.

You can try to poke at me because I’ve admitted I’m angry right now… you can flame me all you like. I don’t kitten care. But what you cannot do is logically refute what they promised vs what they are currently delivering.

Waiting 6 hours to miss TWICE on an event is NOT FUN nor will that ever be fun in my eyes.

I can’t say that I’ve ever run into the problem you faced so idk. It’s a bug, an error, better luck next time but the world did, in fact, not end with your Dragon not giving you loot.

So just ignore all of the bugs that continue to mount on and compel me to not want to play this game? Just sit silent like a little kitten and take it… like it… love it… smile… say “thank you daddy” and walk away satisfied?

I can’t calculate or tell you a numerical “xp” figure of the amount I’ve lost in the last 3 days on bugged events. I know for sure I just gave up even moving towards the events.

BUT WHAT I CAN SAY FOR SURE: 6 hours and 10-12k for the dragon, 4-5silver, and most importantly like 8-10 blue→?? items just today lost on this dragon bullkitten.

I know YOU don’t give a kitten about my time… nor should you. Frankly: I could care less about you. But those who PROMISED me that my play time was valuable to them are who my main concern is with.

Fix this buggy bullkitten.

I am a level 63 Mesmer and the event is the level 60 Sparkfly Fen Dragon.

However since hitting level 50 I find a solid 60-75% of the world events are bugged. I now just stick with 3 that I know are less buggy… however even those bug out a lot of the time.

The OP brings up a legitimate problem and all he gets is troll posts from fanboys. To answer the question, they have said that they are working on fixing this problem with getting credit for events. However, I wouldn’t feel too disappointed anyway, I normally just get crappy blue items from boss chests.

No it’s not a bug, only 50 people can get loot from boss fights. If there are are 50 and you didn’t do damage to it first or enough damage to stay in the top 50, then you are not rewarded

Oh that dragon. Entrance was amazing, fight was amazing, lootz was amazing. Did you check the chest afterwards? I got like 8 items, mostly blues and greens, but there are a few yellows too! Was amazing!

Are the drops DPS based? Do the chests only appear if you are in the top (50?) players? There are several games I’ve played in the past with similar mechanics.

This would also explain random event bosses I’ve fought with no rewards…

Please fanboy is probably the most used word when it comes to game forums and that word and trolling no longer mean what they originally mean. Anyone that disagrees with someone stating a problem is considered a fanboy and is just trolling. It’s already known that there are event rewards bugged and some quest and skill challenges that are bugged. What’s truly annoying is these people coming on here kittening and complaining about bugs like this is the first mmo in the entire world that has ever come out with bugs. You want to know the best way to handle bugs? Report them. That is the fastest way time get them fixed. Complaining about bugs on the general discussion forums, which btw is the wrong place to complain about bugs, is not going to magically make the bugs get fixed faster.

There are a ton of problems and it’s not like anyone official is really looking at the forums.Yout will always see complaints about things on the general forums.

Yes there will always be complaints on the general forums part. I wasn’t saying complaints in general. I was talking about complaining about bugs in the general discussion forums is the wrong place to do so. There is a bug section for reason.

The point of my post is exactly what you seemed to follow up with.

Most people that use troll are morons. They don’t even know the meaning of it. Someone trying to tell a joke? TROLL. Someone disagree with you? TROLL. Someone ask a newb question? TROLL. Someone flame you? TROLL.

It’s amusing and sad at the same time.

As for the latter label. Really? Can’t you come up with anything other than fanboy? This is not only to you, but the general populace of teenagers that think it’s a cool word. I mean I can think of fifty different words to use to insult you with. Ignorant is probably the first that would come to mind. If people want to feel hip and thirteen, by all means, keep up the fanboy name calling. Otherwise, we all grow up sometime, right?

Lastly. WoW has been a big influence on much of this stupidity that has been infecting the forums as of late. It is natural for the name to come up. Alas, my argument had nothing to do with ’disagreeing of opinions’. I was choosing to highlight a major problem that I have, with idiots that keep using he terms ’trolls’ and ’fanboy/fanboi’. It’s a trend I’d like to see disappear, much like the whole ’entitlement/apologist’ crap. Though, that’s a rant for another time.

When I went to fight the Shatterer I was there from 100% to 0% HP and got a bronze medal for it and 2 blues and a rare horn that I didn’t need so I salvaged.

The point is there should probably be some sort of damage threshold for those events that should be there so people get the max Karma/money out of it because that was friggin’ ridiculous.

Needless to say unless it’s in my storyline I’m never fighting another world boss dragon until they say that stuff is fixed.

Sadly, these days most people think that anyone who doesn’t automatically disagree with the existing feature / content / devs / etc is a fanboi.

is this true? i’m pretty sure that even if this is how it works currently, it’s not intended.

just as you not getting your loot is not intended, OP. i understand you’re upset by spending your time and missing out on a cool reward, but please don’t pretend it’s by design or intentional.
i guess filing a bug report is all you can do about it for now :/

I have fought the Shatterer 15 – 20 times now and have only received loot the very first time when I was lvl 60, I just gave up on it and don’t even do it anymore

First of all, it’s ridiculos that only damage counts. You can heal, buff, debuff, tank(sorta), but only damage counts. Makes no sense at all

I just killed a dragon tonight and got a bunch of stuff. I even got two of the same pistol which I thought was odd.

My partner is a lvl 80 Mesmer and a fair few times she has not even received bronze medal for some of these dragon fights, even though she is doing a fair amount of damage, ressing people and giving a huge group of people time warp buff which makes them all attack faster and the bosses health drops like a sack of potatos and she gets no credit for it.

I’ve suggested to her for now to man turrets/mortars or attack minions until this is fixed becaused at least she gets silver/gold for it. I did that on Tequatal, just protected turrets and destroyed bone walls and got gold for it, didn’t even attack boss once.

Ressing and buffing don’t give any credit towards the event, its like people are saying if you don’t do enough damage you don’t get loot which is pretty stupid. I can kill a mob and run across the zone and get credit for an event I didn’t even realize was going on but when I go all out dps on a dragon for the entire event I get nothing….. defiantly not working as intended

What you missed was not a Dusk or Dawn so chill.
