Q:
AI is not measured by more HP
Rewriting AI requires a lot of human resources in the initial phase and server resources once implemented.
Adding 10 more portals, tons of trashmobs and a giant HP is, on the other hand, easily achievable and costs far less in terms of CPU time.
Simple answer: no, I don’t think it’s right, but it’s the way it is.
I would much prefer better AI. I can’t remember where it was, but on one of the world bosses, everyone would just DPS from the side while it stood there breathing fire out in front. I’m glad I wasn’t showing the game to anyone at that point, it looked a bit silly.
Edit: I think it was the Shadow Behemoth.
Dunno. I think massive amounts of HP is the solution to gameplay. I mean, Scarlet fight was a massive success, right?…Right? Thirty five minutes of walking in circles was amazing gameplay that shocked the world.
Right?
I think everyone will agree that better AI and more complex fights are better than raising the HP. Zergs will still zerg until zergs can’t zerg. A boss attack like a Chain Lightening would certainly loosen up the pack, forcing them to spread out and maybe strategically move to various spots to avoid getting nuked.

Lets be real. The zerg will complain and get it nerfed. launch was nothing like this easy stuff we have now.
Im levelling a new char and the bloody fiery shield block doesnt actually set you on fire anymore in POA.
When the Charr shaman event slaughtered whole groups of people.

My first joy with this game was soloing that shaman after the group wiped.
Not seen it since I came back to GW2 about eight months ago. Did they remove the event?
