ANET i would give ANYTHING for....
One thing I’m really starting to get annoyed by is the events in this game.
When a new event happens it’ll add something to work on that is really only doable during the event. Look at the blades backpiece. It’s so hard to get it now because of it’s massive need for blade shards that aren’t easy to get apart from parking 10 characters at no so secret jp.
I hate one time only events that MMO’s seem to be all about these days. One time only events that give out things so people can feel like special snowflakes and show off. It aggravates me.

Blade shards are not that hard to get, even now. Just use the MF recipe to get them from sprockets.

as long as the item isnt impossible to get. idc if its superrrr hard to get, as long as its possible for every1, idc how long it takes nor how many things you have to find and forge. i actually forged my blade ascended backpiece long after the event, it took me ages, but i did it.
It’s really not that bad with Blade Shards, finished the dynamics pack shortly after the end of the event, and the statics pack about a month ago – only with mining sprockets and shards from the Sprocket Generator. As soon as you have one it’s just a matter of investment – time or gold – to get the others. The only thing that runs dry at some point are the power cores.

i see we have an extrovert here
you’re mad at an MMO because you didn’t play the game at a certain time they made an item available
you’re mad at people who got the item because you didn’t play the game at that time
the problem isn’t Anet’s or the other players’ fault, it’s your fault because you didn’t play at a certain time, or you hadn’t even bought the game yet, the people who played at the time had every right to that item, you however do not, it’s how Arenanet rewards it’s loyal fanbase
Personally I’m glad some items are only available for short periods of time during an event. For instance the horns and halo were not just handed out free, items had to be found and collected from within LA during a short time window. Most other people were doing the missions while some of us were busy running around finding and collecting the items. There was a max limit per day so to get the horns or halo took over two weeks of missing other stuff in order to concentrate on this instead.
I never go anywhere now without my halo!
Edit: Forgot I had an image of my ascended infused spinal blades on my mobile too. Enjoy.
Welcome to the Internet, exposing characters since the early 80’s.

got myself 3 halo’s and 1 set of horns was no problem
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.

How is that being an “extrovert”?
Being an extrovert just means being outgoing, socially.
It doesn’t have anything to do with whether, or not, you like “exclusive” items, which are only available at certain times.
In fact, I would have thought an introvert would be more likely to be against them, as they tend to dislike showing off (and show-offs).
the halo/horns should really just be added back on the laurel vendor. I am not sure why they forgot to add those.
What I would give ANYTHING for would be UW and Fow, heck I would pay an expansion price for just those two areas to be re-added back with similar mechanics/difficulty as it was in GW1.
I don’t see anything wrong with stuff being exclusive. It adds more meaning to it. You know they’re going to keep making more, so instead of being frustrated about missing out on something, why don’t you look forward to the next thing?
I like exclusivity, but not total exclusivity.
Like Adry has already mentioned, I think Anet perfectly executed the Spinal Blades backpieces because it was some work to get it during the event, but it’s now much more difficult to get after the event (unless you have a lot of money to throw at watchwork sprockets and the forge).
I wish that more things were like this in-game.
I think it was a good thing that some event-exclusive items are purchasable with laurels, but now that the worth of laurels has dropped (because you don’t need to supply effort to obtain them), it devalues some of the exclusive items quite greatly.
Also, the amount of work that went in to obtaining the Halo/Horns potions is something to consider. If they become purchasable again, this has to be considered (and imo, they need to require more work to obtain than the first time they were purchasable).
It took me several months to acquire my ascended blade pack. But that made it all the more valuable. Even with the annoying crafting stipulations. I’m super glad you can’t get it via the laurel vendor. Sorry but event-based items are a big incentive in my book.
This game has hardly anything left that could only be acquired from a single event. Many of the one-time shinies can be bought with laurels or on the TP.
I think a good game should have a few items that demonstrate “yes, I was there for that special occasion.” That’s an awesome perk for those with the right amount of RL luck (to be able to play at that time) and the dedication to the game.
the horns/halo in season 1 (the ones you can add other head armor to), and the teq wings!! PLEASE OMG PLEASE!!! make it available for us to get PLEASE!!!! i will NEVER quit this game if you manage to make them available
Keep in mind the horns are currently broken. ;x

LMFAOOOOO ikr, I laughed when I read ur reply. hahahahahaha
its funny how all the people who have said they SHOULD have exclusive items….HAVE these items, therefore failing on adopting another person’s perspective. LOL I found that funny, props to those who have the items, but understand that other people DONT. like I said, it should be very difficult to acquire them cause we missed out on it, but it should not be impossible.

I don’t have a lot of the exclusive items (including the Halo) and started my GW1 career too late to have any there either (well, at least, not the ones I really liked). Nevertheless, I think every game should have a few.
This is a huge game with oodles of items. There’s room for some that are exclusive, some that can only be earned, because the bulk can be acquired by anyone at almost anytime, if they are willing to pay market (or gemshop) prices.
