With close to a hundred rants about this april fool airplane mode and 98% of them negative, I think you should reconsider this prank. Do a hotfix and either remove it or allow players to turn it off. If you don’t you’ll probably see a marked decrease in your customer base tomorrow.

I find it highly funny and enjoyable and i even make “vruummm” noises myself…it reminds me of a simpler time…back when i was a kid, with no worries…the sky was the limit and we just pretended and had fun…

It’s really a great update/joke. I forgot how fun it was to pretend back then…todays kids to miss out on a lot with the Phones, Smartphones, Pfhablets, PC-s, Laptops and so on.

Instead of being a hurt little kitty cat try and remember the older simpler days…

Also i feel offended that you think loyal players, and the actual players that like that game will leave for this thing…it’s funny…so funny it’s actually offensive

In the old days – no publisher of a game would ruin the game play for a whole day -and call it a joke.

I don’t think they should change it…it’s gone anyway by tomorrow. There are some people every year that complain about the april fools prank.

I think it was tactically a bit unwise since people are right now pretty focused on that plane crash, but otherwise it’s pretty funny.

i wish they’d recorded several voices with “plane”-sounds though…my norn sounds like an asura.

The 78.5% of those are willing to buy the mod from the gem store to became a permanent aeroplane to fly around as long as they keep all the sound effects.

You mentioning a planes in my presence is incredibly offensive and I feel triggered. How dare you talk about planes when just seven years ago, my paper airplane flew out the window and into traffic. Clearly I’m not over this tragedy and I think you’re being incredibly disrespectful using the word “plane” when clearly you don’t understand my pain.

I could care less how much “mandatory” fun a lot of people have.

I logged in thinking I had a bug, as I know this normally IS a bug.
Eventually noticed the hardly noticeable flightcap, due to the heavy sepia and couldn´t bear to continue with this after more than 5 minutes.

As a German I´m not even surprised anymore at the ´merican insensitivity, but having this FORCED on me for the rest of the day is downright kittenarded.

The vocal minority doesn’t represent the majority, they’re just incredibly obnoxious and loud.

People that normally dont use the forum at all, for all the hate and trolls that are there, feel the need to go and say a word and voice their concern, about this absolutely inconciderate action.

That some people are trying to stop them from voicing this concern or laughing at them for feeling sad, just makes you doubt for the future of humanity.

I never ever use these forums, but I’m making an exception to let ANET know that, as a loyal customer, I loved this silly update when it hit in WvW in the middle of a huge battle. It was amazing, hilarious, and everyone went running around — including our super serious commander — and had fun with it. This is hilarious; if you can’t stand having silly fun for 24h, take a break and go out in the sun and reconsider your place in life. We all need to be reminded of being a child from time to time, lest we act like children and cry and whine while pretending to be adult instead.

while people are making /sad posts on forum, those who like like and are having fun have no time to post on official website BECAUSE they are playing right now.
Just few unlucky of us who like it are stuck at work and cant play right now.

like we all needed to get reminded of jesus christ or a plane crash, that really made my in game time hilarious.

30 secs after it hit, i had thought , haha / this is stupid / it looks like jesus and up to easter / OMG what did they think 1 week after planecrash and how do i disable this.

ANET, please. remove everything non game related from GW2 and anything that closely resembles anything minutely RL. no more wintersday, no more halloween. no April fools, no Jubilee, no Dragon bash. Nothing.

Most of the threads are 2 or 3 whiner babies crying about their hurt feelings and 20-30 posts telling them to grow up. Just because you keep starting whine threads doesn’t mean 98% of people agree with you!

Even if anet makes a way to turn it off, they’ll still look for something else to complain about.

Empathy is not the problem. Being tired of people finding a reason to whine about something is the problem. this is something fun that was done by ANET for its community but you will always find someone who will turn it around and be offended by it. The sky is blue – that offends me. Its perfectly ok for other players, but the 2 or 3 out of every 50000 that find it offensive turn it into this stupid debacle we have here.

And no, the plane crash that is literally on the other side of the world from me does not have any bearing or influence in my life.

I find this update really entertaining. Those plane sounds are top-notch.

if you want the april’s fools joke to be disable (airplane mode), just disable post processing from graphics settings
+ stop moaning for everything, its started to get very annoying just search for some things over the internet or remember past updates…

personally i will do the whole day like an airplane
