Play wvw or spvp or both.
spvp
The extremely unbalanced game mode with only a single objective and a highly trolly map in the rotation. That won’t get stale, fast.
anet is asking you to quit, and so are all the anet defenders. I don’t know why but they don’t want new contents or anything that would consume anet’s time other than living story. Only if they realize that in a year or two they would be the one driven out by the new casual players…
There are many great games being released left and right.
This is a serious question, since I’m feeling a bit like it might be time to move on myself… Are any of them not-too-twitchy-but-need-some-skill MMORPGs?

Neither portion of this statement is accurate. Anet has made no such statement, nor have “all” of the game’s defenders. One could, I suppose, say that ANet’s actions make that kind of statement, but I don’t think that’s accurate, either. At most, the direction they’ve taken with the game says, “We hope all of our players stay around, but we believe that the game’s current direction balances best our desire to retain players with the financial realities of running our business.”

I think it’s fantastic that you’ve spent so much time and effort into this game to achieve all of that. It shows that you REALLY do enjoy this game, but you seem to be getting burnt out. Don’t worry though. This is normal. Even in a game such as GW2 that has so much to offer, once you’ve done it, it starts to feel empty and dull. I can get that. But like some people have said, Anet can only put out stuff so fast. However I do feel that ultimatly that it is not the fault of Anet that you are feeling burnt out. Now I am not saying you should quit, or take a break (although taking a break for a bit may help) but rather revisiting those things that made you fall in love with the game. What made you start playing to begin with? what caused you to continue playing and go after all those things? Why did you do what you did? Going back to the beginning may help rekindle your enjoyment of the game until such a time that Anet brings us those new things.
There is a concept called moderation.
Practice it in everything you do. When you do, it’s possible to persevere longer without tiring, losing interest and preserve health. TV, video games, life, love, sex, food, exercise, practice all in moderation and you’ll continue enjoying those tv series, you’ll have fun playing those retro games, you won’t hate people just for existing, passion will continue to burn, sex will still be exciting, food will always taste good, you’ll always be motivated to get in the gym….
It just works.
If there will be no new content in the size of an expension within the coming year I fear GW2 will not recover.
GW1 had several expansions and yet the unofficial forums were full of doomsday posts like yours. It seems some things never change.
There are many great games being released left and right. All games are more ‘modern’ than GW2 and there will be a time where GW2 cannot compete with them anymore.
There#s nothing stopping you from playing those games.

Not a doomsday post at all. I am not one to post those things at all.
What I do see is that even though GW1 had big expansions, the doomsday posts didn’t go, which kind of proves the game survived otherwise no posts could have been made
Here with GW2 we pretty much know for sure the devs/publisher aren’t working on anything ’’big’’ so the doomsday posts aren’t just filled with thin air this time.
Take stonemist by yourself. PvD style.

That’ll keep you busy for a while.
Farm a stack of keys before next Tuesday when key farming dies.
Get all the Legendaries?
Have you gotten every achievement?
I’m sorry but the thread title just taunts me, and compels me to help you out:

No offense intended, but it looks like ANet has given you quite a few goals already.
You do not have a full wardrobe.
Fill the wardrobe.
Solo Lupicus with every class? Solo Mai Trin and Mossman on FotM 50? Get rank 80 in PvP? Set goals and challenges for yourself.
Farm large amount of gold, to buy super expensive cosmetic items…
That sum up the endgame of GW2.
You do not have a full wardrobe.
Fill the wardrobe.
THIS.
Be the very first player in the world to fully complete the Wardrobe. Then, you can say that you are GW2’s most dedicated player.
I moved over to FF14 ARR a couple of months ago. The content they already have + add is just mind blowing. And then I dont mind paying a couple of bucks per month to gain that amount of content. I’ve played GW2 since beta but I stopped a month ago. I still check the forums on a regular basis to see what’s going on in the community and what kind of update’s the game gets. September feature pack disappointing as hell. I know it’s no CONTENT update, but still, it is an update, one of the few updates this game get’s, aside from the useless crap they call living story.
FF XIV was a complete disaster when it first came out. It took (about) 3 years to re-do the whole thing. So of course it will have all the niceties now.

ya but GW2 have been out for 2 years now. After 2 years, you are left with many bitter players who find the end game very lacking.

Also, now that miniatures and Finishers are being added to the Wardrobe, to become “Guild Wars 2’s Most Dedicated Fan”, you must now complete miniatures and Finishers as part of your collection.
