Linsey being a total workhorse on inventory.
Weavers with Sword.
Deadeye with Rifle.

…okay so those are my only recent examples, but it turns out that the devs are listening.
It just takes a while to make some things happen. I know we’d like more communication coming our way, but at least we can talk among ourselves while we know ANet has a glass to the door.

Of course, you always hear “X doesn’t listen” when they couldn’t listen (due to whatever reasons) once, but if they do, nobody says “Thank you” afterwards.

Except you which is why I love this thread.

I see a few thank-you threads from time to time. I think there’s one on the front page, or close to it.

It’s just nice to see that some things we say do make it into the game, eventually. Patience, virtue, yaddayadda.

That’s always been true. The problem is that many individual players expect the thing that they ask for be added sooner rather than later, without recognizing that there are other players and the costs of some great ideas might outweigh the benefits.

I made a suggestion for a ‘Portal Scroll Book’ and it took about 7 months.

There are a lot of opinions about everything, and God knows that forums doesn’t show what the majority want. Forums can to readers often give a false impression that a majority wants something when the overwhelming majority wants something completely else, or is totally unaware of a problem that a few dozen ppl find annoying.

And since forum posters tend to immediately write every little thing they find right or wrong, it’s very time consuming to read and respond to it. So the only thing is often to not read it at all but to regard problem when they occur.

At the same time you have to listen to your customers. But forums is rarely the most effective way to do so nowadays.

I’m all for saying, “Thank you!” However, virtually every change that has been made to the game since launch was asked for by some part(s) of the player-base. Now, what made it into the game may not always be exactly what was asked for, but ANet has been listening all along.

At times, reading player complaints on forums, it seems that, “What have you done for us lately?” is the operating paradigm, with lately being since the last update.

Anet has always listened. It’s just they don’t talk back, so we most of the time don’t know at all what is happening.
Also Engie: the last clear “hearing” from Anet on engie was removing the forced kit backpacks. Most bugs and failures of the class are still there.

that it makes every other class in the game boring to play.”
