I haven’t heard anything on this, but what is ANet’s stance on data mining? I can’t really elaborate much more on that question because it’s so blunt, and I haven’t seen an official response on this anywhere.

Data mining is the process of decompiling the game’s files in an attempt to find hidden, future and spoiler content, as well as seeing raw textures and text files.

Well, they don’t allow things to be posted on the official forums.

However, as long as the files aren’t actually altered, I don’t think they ban you for it.
