Was wondering if there is any way to apply a skin to any Engineer weapon kit. Example, make the grenade backpack look different, or the Flamethrower backpack look different.

This would be a nice addition to the gem store.

It’s been mentioned several times, multiple users actually entering the term “HOBOSACKS!” in the developer live stream recently. With how simple this QoL improvement is, you’d think they would have something for Engineers by now.

But this is not true.

If I were you, I’d honestly just forget about it. I’m sure they’re “working” on it. But don’t expect something for like another 6 months, at least.

All credit to them, but they are actually terribly slow when it comes to these kinds of things.

You’d think that it would be worth the time to just add an option to either:

- Show Kit-Backbacks
- Show Back-items rather than Kit-Backpacks
- Disable Kit-Backpacks.

. . . But apparently, it’s really hard to squeeze in. Or they just highly prioritize other things, some which we don’t know of. I guess it’s actually kind of hard to understand how this all works in a relatively large company. Could just be a fallacy, which they aren’t without.

Gw2 is a masterpiece at it’s foundation. Content-wise however…

They made vague mention 10 months ago to doing something about it, with a consideration of allowing Engineers to hide the hobosacks in lieu of an Elementalist style icon on their nameplates… but it appears turn around time on such things is > 10 months, so I’d get used to that hobosack in the meantime. =D
