Now that Champions will become profitable, I would like to ask for Anet to reduce the status of some mini-bosses in low-lv areas.

Actually, Queensdale is a Pain because the constant farm-champz (Oakhart, Bee, Boar, Troll (And I think I’m not remember all)) due the incridible easily on these monsters. Its good for exp, karma, money… But its giving players more and more reasons to been away from the high lvl areas, and becoming stuck at starter area.

With the incoming updates when champions will become profitable, I hope that a lot of those champions come reduced to veterans at least, or 3/4 of server will be stuck farming in queensdale/wayfarer foothills.

They mentioned how they were going to increase the profitability of champion drops in Orr, Southsun and Frostgorge in the blog post.

Champions in the game will be updated so each will always drop a guaranteed reward box for any player that qualifies for a reward from the boss.
[…]
This change will make champions more rewarding, and will make playing in Orr and Southsun Cove (where events can scale up to add champions) more exciting and fruitful for guilds and players joining together in the open world.

They said that any champion will drop that, and SS an ORR scales moster to champion nv, but c’mom… how much time is to kill one karka champion? (Even with zerg). How much time is to kill boar? Where you think the players will go?

Holy kitten, this was mentioned as part of their plan for the second half of the year, it’s not even presumed to be in this patch, and someone already wants to ruin it.

First, since when is it a bad thing to have people actually wanting to go to starting zones? If anything that’s one thing most MMOs struggle with, that the population just tends to naturally move to “end game” zones. Having people wanting to return to lower level areas would actually be a good thing.

Second, we don’t even know how profitable these champions will be, if any. From the way they worded it it seems like it’ll finally actually be worth it to kill champions. That there will be a reason not to skip them. This doesn’t mean that it’ll be farmer’s heaven.

Third, we don’t even know if the reward will be the same for every champion. Nothing says the Champion Troll in Queensdale will give you the same reward as the Champion Abomination in Orr… You’re assuming. An awful lot.

Fourth, that’s an incredibly ham-handed way of “fixing” a problem, if there even was one.

I know people love to go on ignorant bouts of hysteria, but geez… Can we please try to have some semblance of information about we start with the torches and pitchforks?

I’m guessing they will have different tiers based on where they are. So a Queensdale boar would have a chance to drop a destroyer fragment, while a karka champion would have a chance to drop a destroyer loadstone.

Regardless, it’s such an obvious flaw in design that I’m sure Anet already has a solution to it and it will be made clear when they are ready to add in the new champion changes.

Alara Vesmir – Guardian
Tyr Sylvison – Warrior
Illyiah – Revenant

It is such an obvious design flaw that I think anet has it under control. If they don’t… then this game is in serious trouble.

Yeah, this is what I’m worried about. It think people will find it most efficient to kill lower level easy champs in Queensdale 900 times, than try to push events in Orr to kill a harder champ a couple times. Anet will have to make the Queensdale champs drop nothing but low level rares. Otherwise it will become as crowded as Orr pre-nerfs. I dunno bout the rest of you, but the last thing I want to do is farm Queensdale.

Hope Anet looks in to this… I don’t want to wait another year for some kind of mythical fix that never comes.

I’m just trying to ensure that Anet remember this before they launch.

As they said : " so each will always drop a guaranteed reward box " . As we already know since the start of the game, all rewards has been given upscaled to lv of character (C’mom… lv 8 bosses gave exotic lv 80).

If this will be as all the rest, at least I hope for only a daily loot reward box from each champions. This would do players go along all the rest of game.

Whakittens wrong make people go back in start areas? None.
What is wrong is people STUCKED at start area. So may times I’ve got on overflow in queensdale (Even when SB its not on) when exploring with one of my alts, while orr-southsun-frostground are always totally empty. I’ll not even mention that all other areas of game its totally abandoned.

I know that anyway that The developers realeases this, people will for sure glitch it, but I’m only remembring one of the ways to developers fix before launch. So, I know have to wait until this release, but I do not need to wait until release to remember that this is a potential portal to glitch.

Lets not forget that they already added Champ drops before and it didn’t even work correctly for months after it was patched in, turns out profitable and worthy to Anet is just blues and the occasional green. Don’t get too excited just yet.

Kill champions for a chance at a chance at a new crafting material once per day.

You have gotten what you paid for, all that remains is biweekly gemshop pushing.

Don’t underestimate the naivety of developers. Too often do they not see the obvious of what their plans will cause.
