Since they’re the only real feature for “veteran players” we got with the feature patch, are you going to fix them or we’ll have to wait ’till the next “fixing patch”?

So far, we found bugged:
- collection of champion bags (find every tier of 5 different bags);
- collection of wines around Tyria;
- collection of beers around Tyria;
- collection of fractal weapons (not confirmed);
and maybe more of them we didn’t notice since they’re hidden but bugged.
Any information about this? I know a lot of players kittened off about the bugs and problems you’ve introduced with this “feature” patch, so a little explanation would be good for your “veteran players”.

Actually there’s another bug for example on the jormag collection I had one weapon in the collection so when I opened it I didn’t get the first tier AP lol. Not entirely related to what you’re saying but yeah the collections are riddled with bugs.

+1 to OP. Collection is the “big” feature of the pack, and it’s still bug 3 weeks after the release…

fishball > to start the Jormag collection, you have to loot the Jormag Claw fragment from the Jormag world boss event chest in Frostgorge Sound. And that’s RNG based, so I hope you have more luck than me (one try per day since launch and still nothing… and the funny part is that it takes the place of others loot, so you can still drop it instead of another rare item even if you already have it…)

Yep, i’m doing every boss everyday since the patch, and still i didn’t get the item to activate the jormag collection (as many other people); but, many people are reporting issues and bugs with that collection too, so…

I haven’t been able to get any of the race(?) specific collection starting items despite basically committing genocide on grawls/krait/hylek. Haven’t tried for the ogres yet since I can’t get the one for any of the others to drop.

I got Krait collection item while doing event near Teq (while waiting for it). Actually I got several of those collection starters even tho you can use it only 1 time. I got Hylek item in WvW (capping Hyleks ofc) and Grawl from random Grawl Vet in some lvl 15-25 zone.

Edit:

Krait collection is easy to finish as it consists of Krait rare weapon skins 99% of players has already unlocked if they farmed Orr a bit. Hyleks need craftable weapons (using Sunbeads – karma item) and Krait need Large Skull so they are more expensive to make. All of those give Tuning Crystal, Maintenence Oil and Sharpening Stones recipies as rewards. Quite expensive to make compared to regular ones but they last 45 mins (same stat boost).

Yeah I’ve started to do teq again (stopped since the past few month(s) before feature patch to farm dry top for unid fossils and geodes and since I wasn’t getting anything good from Teq), just so I can do the krait lab farming, since you can kill a whole lot of krait in 5 minutes. Still haven’t gotten one of the collection starter item yet though. Grawl and Hylek I’ve been killing all over as I’m in the map. Stupid RNG bullkitten…

I found it personally also disappointing, that the patch yesterday fixed not those achievement bugs, but instead changed and added again lots of skill facts, which really are of no high priority over fixing bugs for game content, that doesn’t work otherwise…

Adding and changing those skill facts are of such low priority really in comparison to fix bugs. I wish anet wouldn’t waste so often time with such unneccesary little things and would focus more on the real important issues. Thats at least my opinion over the last patch yesterday.

But however, it added a new weapon set with the tempest weapons which I absolutely love for its daggers and shortbow
Finally has my thief some wind based weapons which I always wanted to have ^^

Would love to see this stuff fixed.

I would love to see this stuff made worthwhile to do. I did the Maguuma daily achieve today and out of pure coincidence I wound up among a bunch of krait mobs and got the scale drop that starts that collection.

Because I had a bunch of the skins already I went to the TP and bought the rest. That cost me about 3g. No big deal really, but the reward for that collection is a recipe for a supplement condition damage crystal that no one in their right mind is ever going to make because it requires T6 mats. The only bonus for making this item, as opposed to the item with the same effect, is 15 minutes more duration.

Really? Who is going to spend or use T6 mats worth 1g or more to make a food supplement that last 15 minutes longer than the original supplement with the same effects?

I really would like to know who decides on this stuff, and why don’t they ever talk to us here?

Another, and probably better question would be, does that designer who puts these things together actually think that this sort of thing is fun gaming? The rewards in this game have been such garbage, and continually such garbage that I’m not surprised so many players have moved on.

My posts are facts as I know them, or my own opinion, and do not represent any guild.

No, I’ve not seen the code, but I’m a programmer so I’m not talking randomly.
If there’s something game-breaking like random crashes of the game, of the servers, you have to focus on that, not on releasing things (like every tuesday) on the gemstore.

But what I’m seeing so far is the same situation of one month ago, day by day, like the problem isn’t so important to fix and caring about players isn’t ArenaNet’s focus anymore.

This largely presupposes that there is a problem.

By now, this being their flagship feature for vets, if this was a bug, they’d have fixed it. Or at least said something about it :/ Yes, I know their track record.

My best guess is that these weren’t intended to be released just yet, but somewhere in the coming months so that there would be a few new ‘easy’ collections to go after. In contrast to things like Spirit Crafter and the collections of its ilk that are surely coming ;/

I certainly wouldn’t say it’s a minority of players that this affects if it’s right underneath the Collections ToC and very prominent.

One of the more unpleasant side effects of collections is how much is has jacked up the price of collectable exotics. I was thinking of grabbing a Komalie’s Sacrificial Blade for the skin today, which I thought was nice but pricey at 12g a few months ago…

Now it’s 80g. Bloody ’ell.

I’m just viewing collections as something you just come across in the process of trying to achieve another goal, rather than being a goal itself, so I don’t particularly mind the low AP or rewards-of-dubious-worth.

Maybe a pair of collection will fill themself (skritt one for example), the rest you have to complete by trying to achieve them, not automatically by trying to achieve something else.

Mmm, yes?

Many of the collections fill out automatically for me on my quest to round out my wardrobe . I’m nowhere near done on any of them yet, but if I happen to have some dungeon tokens to spare, I’ll treat myself to a nice new skin or two, and eventually I’ll fill out those collections as time goes by. If I need to outfit a new character, I’ll keep an eye on the TP for the crafted skins that my wardrobe is still missing, or just craft them myself, thus also filling collections on the side.

The most “out of the way” I’ve gone so far collection-wise is going through the fine dining collection and cooking each of the steaks on there, then distributing those among the characters so each gets the food they most profit from. Similarily, I’ve treated my chars to a batch of master oils etc. they don’t normally get to use.

Maybe I’ll eventually go out of my way to grab a skin or two that I really wouldn’t have gotten without the collection, once it’s close to finishing, but only time will tell. I’m in no hurry to finish them, but am positive that I will finish most of them eventually without much trouble.

How many people as set a goal to complete the whole wardrobe or even the 50% of it? Maybe less than 1% of the player, less of the percentage of people reached the AP daily cap

I’m just viewing collections as something you just come across in the process of trying to achieve another goal, rather than being a goal itself, so I don’t particularly mind the low AP or rewards-of-dubious-worth.

Mmm, no?
Maybe a pair of collection will fill themself (skritt one for example), the rest you have to complete by trying to achieve them, not automatically by trying to achieve something else.

Mmm, yes? I’m talking about how I (and possibly others who also have been collecting skins for the sake of collecting) perceive the collections rewards. I’m not saying that’s how you or anyone else has to see it that way. I agree the rewards are lacking if you’re pursuing them as a goal, but that still doesn’t change the fact that I’m not pursuing them as such.

Now I don’t know how many people collect like I do (only ANet has access to those numbers), but it’s possible there are quite a few people who do because the rewards are generally incentives for people to do the achievement. So if the rewards are meh, it means one of two things:

1) ANet doesn’t want people doing the achievements.

2) Anet doesn’t think people need incentives to do the achievements (because they’re already doing them anyway).

I’m going to go out on a limb and assume it’s the latter.

Man, the collections are a goal too, above all for the veteran players.
Nobody of the newbies would fill any of them, nobody.
And almost nobody of veteran players should have complete all the collections by playing (3-4 of dungeons are automatically completed if you’ve complete the PvP wardrobe before the 1st feature patch).

The reward are not balanced anyway, you just have to look at the achievement points reward. Soon i’ll get my 25k chest and i’ll get 30g as i got at 5k, 10k, 15k and 20k, not even and improvement of it for someone who complete almost everything in 2 years.

Fine dining might be bugged too or at least it was for me. Recipe: feast of truffle steak dinner. Crafted it without gaining any recognition as being part of the collection. Crafted a second time only to be told I already know the recipe.

Maybe try learning the recipe on a different character. It shouldn’t matter what character learned it and maybe the second time it will catch. Learn it on a char that has cooking as one of the crafting it has active, just to be more sure.

I’m one. I plan (will probably give up on it at some point though) to try to fill out all of the wardrobe, with the exception of the kitten RNG BLTC weapon skins and some of the really ugly gemstore skins.

really annoys me the wall of silence from Anet on the whole issue the multitude of bugs and they cant respond once to it to say yeah guys we are aware of these bugs don’t worry we are working on a fix
they would rather rush the next buggy installment of the game and fix anything we can exploit and leave the rest till next features patch
and be all like hey look guys we got this amazing features patch for you where we fix most of the screw ups from the last features patch and add some new content with new bugs for you to complain about witch we will promptly ignore
its no wonder Anet has such bad press and are getting slammed left and right atm there management of guild wars 2 has been without a doubt the worst Ive ever seen and Im a veteran gamer since the days of atari and have played lots of mmo’s i don’t say this lightly
Halloween soon and my expectations are low yet i think Anet will still somehow manage to mess it up and disappoint me and ill be back here to further erode public opinion of the game
