Does it show up ONLY when you deliver/receive mail, or does it also show up when you make transactions in the TP (i.e. selling overstock materials, etc.).

This’ll help me decide whether or not it’s worth a purchase, as I hardly ever write letters to other players, but frequently sell things on the TP.

Same as when the pigeon would otherwise show up.

When you send mail or sell something on the TP, the griffon comes down and take a letter from you. When you receive mail, it swoops down and delivers it to you.

Well, it looks like it doesn’t affect TP mail, from the looks of the patch notes:

Once unlocked, players can select the default mail carrier for every character on their account to receive mail from the game or send their mail to other players.
When sending mail, a one-time mail carrier can be selected from the Compose mail dialog, affecting only the current mail being sent.

Hmm, okay, well I got two contradicting answers… can anyone who purchased this give us a definitive answer on this?

Sorry, I don’t have the new Mail Carrier…just going by the patch notes. I figured if it was any time the ‘pigeon’ showed up, they would not have specified when the new Carriers were active.

But, I’m sure someone will have bought one and post, definitively. =)

From what I’ve gathered, this is how it works if you have the Griffon selected as your mail carrier:

1. All outgoing mails from you will use the Griffon. (A Griffon will be displayed on your screen.)

2. All incoming mails to you will use the Griffon, unless the sender is another player who has a custom mail carrier of their own. For example, if you get a mail from ANet after a gemstore purchase, it gets delivered by a Griffon. If you get a mail from Dave who has a (hypothetical) Quaggan-on-a-balloon mail carrier, then his message gets delivered to you by the Quaggan, not your Griffon.
