How do you react to being shown a new exploit?
Do you make it your own to use everywhere?
Do you acknowledge it and use it when someone else suggests it only?
Do you refuse to use it, even if it means leaving a group?
Do you report it?

And why do you respond as such?

1. Depends on the exploit. If it’s something funny to troll people with it then I will laugh and most likely use it. If it is gameplay gamebreaking like the Sentinel Rifle one shot kill or the jump over tower walls glitch I might try it a couple of times but not do it too often. If it something that involves multiplying wealth and screwing the economy then I will stay away from it because exploits like the Godskull and Snowflake will get you perma-banned whereas gameplay exploits like wall jumping will usually be a 3 day ban if repeat offender.

2. Depends on the exploit.

3. Will usually try it out and see what it is. Watch on Youtube first.

4. Not gonna do it if its perma-ban worthy. Would leave a group if it risked my account being banned. No brainer there.

Exploits are exploits.

Report the exploit to the devs so they can fix it. Getting something because of a game flaw is wrong on a number of levels.

I would only report the exploiter if they were being kittens about it. Many times, the exploiter simply doesn’t know it’s an exploit and so reporting the player just doesn’t make sense.

You either use it and abuse it hoping you wont get banned (you probably will)

You use it to verify it works then send details and screenshot to Anet support using /bug in chat (Recommended)

Or you drop from party and don’t use it..

If someone shows me an exploit, my normal reaction is “Cool, but I don’t want to get banned. You should stop using it as well for that reason.”

Hi everyone,

If you see someone exploiting please report them via the in game report tool, or take screenshots or videos as evidence and forward them to the CS team so they can take measures.

Also, if you find an exploit or you think something might be an exploit, please post it in the Exploits Reports Archive so the team can see it and fix it.
