I am getting ready to finally tackle HOT. Do I HAVE to have all the hero points done in tryia in order to get the new elete skill? I guess what I am asking is how many Hero Points are available in HOT?

Since the point total required was nerfed from 400 to 250 the answer to than is no. The only thing that’s a little bit of a hurdle is that a lot of the HPs in HoT are not soloable. but do it when there are people around and it’s not particularly hard to get to 250.

WvW will also generate HP if you play that. Theoretically those are soulbound but it you don’t open the chests until they are in the inventory of the character you want to upgrade you can get them where you want them to be.

Hey just wanted to add, if you just in case open the WvW chest on the wrong character, you can still put the soulbound item in your bank, go on the desired character that wants th HP and use it.

Ah ha……So I could ride they myst train and get the needed hp???

There are enough HP’s that can be done solo so you can unlock your full elite spec.

No but it helps toward getting the 250 hero points needed to unlock the elite specialization fully. I think there are 400 hero points (40 hero challenges, world boss group event level) in HoT but there are 200+ soloable hero point challenges in Tyria.

The choice is yours.
