It just doesn’t look good or something you would expect. The scarf is huge and looks uncomfortable on my male human. Is it possible to still change it or give us more options. I was excited for it but it just doesn’t fit at all.

Lol yeah those do look pretty huge on humanoids. I haven’t checked charr, but I personally think it looks the best on asura since it looks a bit smaller compared to the character model, fits around the neck nicely, and doesn’t look like something that would be too bulky to use in combat. When I first heard about the GW2 Shoulder Scarf, I was hoping it would be more like the GW1 Stylish Scarves. I guess it all boils down to personal taste.

I’d assume it looks so different due to what is “currently fashionable”. It’s a nice attempt to stay current, but there will always be fashion vs. function arguments.

Here it is (from the preview code in the OP), on a male human medium. First shot is with my current shoulders dye (shoulders are hidden so the green doesn’t matter), second is with White Dye previewed. I tested with another dye in the second slot and the stripes are also dyeable, so there are two color channels for the scarf.

getting upset over data mined work-in-progress models is really silly.

@Donari Do you like it? I guess it works a bit better with bulkier armor such as yours but the front part especially just seems too “fat” to me.
The one Waldir posted is different, looks like they added that part in front of the mouth. I prefer the first version.
@GrandmaFunk There was already the gem store art included in this patch, so I guess they plan on making it available in the next couple of weeks. I doubt they plan to make any changes.

GW1 design were really fine, but in GW2, they looks too much!! Change the size of those scarfs!

When will this be released Anet? I’m having a vacation for 2 weeks starting today and I will not be able to log-in ingame. I hope it will remain available until the Jan 13 patch, oh pretty please.
