Seriusly I wasnt this angry for many years. Move like this is something what I expected from some 3rd world mobile gaming shady company but not from you. Yes I am talking about change to finishers.
Its what.. A day ago? when you added all finishers to gem store with ‘buy them for full price before they will gone’ and let us think you removing them for half of year as you doing it with rest of the stuff. But now you add them to BL chests and made them worthless.
A day ago I spend on them 9350 gems. Thats over 2k gold. I demand now my gems back because this was dirty fraud.

That’s new and prices could likely rise once people figure out they’re there. Contact support then and ask for a refund. Far more productive than claiming fraud.

I somehow find it amusing that you thought 10K gems for finishers was ok – even if they all had gone away forever – but now its suddenly not ok anymore. Yeah… about that… 10K was never ok to begin with. Its absolutely ridiculous for silly finishers. Dont buy things from the gemstore. If you have that amount of gems to spend on what I will assume is a quest to get everything in the game, then you shouldnt have any regrets no matter the cost.
Anets trend of screwing with us should be noticable by now as well.
You have my sympathy. That actually does seem very shady.
What they probably should have done, is add them to the chests first, give people the chance to see what is happening, and make their choice, and then removed them afterwards.

It’s not the first time that Ms. Cox and her team has made a decision like this. They have put other items in game through other means once they take them off the gem store. They did the same thing with the mini Ghost Carlotta, Scarlet’s armor pieces, Toxic armor pieces, RNG special gem shop dye packs. However the big difference between those and this is two things. First these finishers were put in the black lion chest in less then 2 day’s after the final sale of artificial scarcity. The second difference as that all of these other items were account-bound and could not be traded.
I can see why they did this because finishers were not selling well through the system they had set up. However I bet you that some people think that this will be a bunny ears, aviator sunglasses, or SAB finisher all over again. Where the items have been away a long time. Or it be awhile before they found a new place in game. I thought maybe they would be put into a PvP/WvW reward rotation way down the line. However I bought 5 of them recently because I do less PvP & WvW as of late.
Also I contacted support and according to them they will not be refunding these types of transactions. Which I kind of figured they would not be doing in the first place.

Yeah that’s a pretty kitten move to put the finishers in the black lion’s chest that early. I mean wait 6 months or put new finishers from now on into the chest if you really want to go that route.
As for the people that say it’s random now rather than guaranteed, by the sounds of it the OP is a collector, the finishers were removed with no word on when they could pop up again. Honestly it would have been better spent on black lion keys to get the other rare stuff out of the chests as well as the finishers. But you know what I ain’t even surprised they did it this way, people need to realize this is how anet operates. Taking virtual stuff off the market to drive sales, doing one day limited sales for items to scare everyone into buying it, then bring it back for anniversary sale.
Also customer support is terrible, good luck getting a refund.

It’s not greed, some people are collectors, this game is built around collecting stuff, remember no virtual progression but horizontal cosmetic progression? Achievements, collections, wardrobe, outfits, minis, etc, that’s the type of game they are promoting.
The real greed is the way anet is starting to manipulate the availability of these items.
If I was the OP I would be irritated with the people that are devaluing them. Just checked and people are selling them for way less them it would have cost to buy them via gold to gem conversion. If the market had priced them inline with the cost they had been while in the gem store it wouldn’t be so bad. I admit this move has me questioning buying any other finishers directly though the gem store since we now know the player base will undersell them if they are in the chests.
Some of you guys getting me wrong here. I dont care about that gold 2k isnt big deal for me. It all about principles. What they made today with finishers was slap into the face of our trust. I love this game so much because I know that devs are always nice and fair to us always without any shady behaviors like other greedy companies. Because of that this great community was created. But with backstabs like this itcan end pretty quickly. I hope it was unintentional mistake and will never happend again.

I do not really agree with OP. But no need to say person should not need to buy thing from gem store. Who need all outfit in game? But some people buy them all. Who need every mini in gem store? But people buy them. Who need rabbit ears? But people cry about that all the time no rabbit ears. See how that work? Maybe OP like PvP and WvW and like to change finisher often.

Support some time it seem what GM you get. I had problem one time that GM would not fix after many email but other on forum got fix for. I then send link showing on forum about that and got fix from different GM. I do wish support was some times more consistent. I imagine there are many support GM though and not all think same way.

I see no greed in what Anet has done. The BLC needed some love and more worth for it to be worth it to purchase and this made them a lot less lack luster.

They actualy did even cooler thing. They refund difference between old and current prices so I still have all finishers unlocked and got back 7448 gems. They had to put real effort to recalculate all that stuff witch is trully awesome. Thx for that:-)

Heck, I would not mind getting the same type of refund Rozbuska got. Just the gem difference for the 4 finishers I bought. Plus I would probably get a few more things in the gem store, but it looks like that is not going to be the case.

Doubt most people would have spent gems on finishers if they knew there were returning days later in the black lion chests, and sold on the trading post for dirt cheap.
It was a dirty move to try and sell as much finishers with gem sales, before returning them to the market so soon and a fraction of the original cost.

Just one more comment. A ticket might well be handled from start to finish by one person, who does need to sleep and all as well as research the answer if they get new information, which might be why answers often are once a day and why they ask for 3 days.

This is the same as buying Guild Wars one day, and it going on sale the next. You had said finishers guaranteed. Other people have to pay the price set by other players on the TP, ot gamble on BLK’s. This is why I when I buy things from the gem store. I make sure I’m 100% happy, and it’s 100% worth the gem cost, otherwise I don’t put my hand in my pocket.
I said I wouldn’t be posting on the forums again because I was wrongly infracted last time, but I have to break my word to post this. And I’ll probably be infracted again for having an opinion, but whatever…
I just heard about this today, and as someone who has bought the skritt finisher and the ascalonian leader finisher for FULL price with gems in the past, I find it extremely shady of Anet to do this. You feel absolutely cheated as a customer.
You won’t see me sending in a ticket for everything I’ve bought on the gemstore for full price previously, that all of a sudden went on discount a week or two or three ago and I am not being compensated for, but this is becoming ridiculous and all too frequent.
Why should newer players constantly benefit from coming in late to the game and get everything cheap (getting the base game for free, while others had to pay, might I add, but that’s another topic in and of itself)? Why should newer players benefit from finishers becoming available for 14-44g on the trading post, while others in the past had to pay 146g in gems? (700 gems per finisher). I’m getting tired of being punished for supporting the very game and staff that make it, only to get multiple slaps in the face by YOU discounting everything for newer players and making things that WE had to pay for, FREE to everyone else that decides to join the game.
This whole shady business isn’t exactly filling me with confidence for future purchases.
I mean where do you draw the line Anet? I feel really cheated, and I’m not the only one. I probably won’t get any compensation either, and I shouldn’t have to send in a ticket (which would probably get rejected anyway because I bought them a while back). I’m starting to second guess now whether I should be buying any more outfits, because that’s what will be next… let’s be honest. You heard it here first.

And after this whole thing Anet, you won’t be getting any more real life money from me ever again. I’ve spent over $1300, but from now on, no more. All this shady stuff (and rewording statements to avoid legal issues) has to end. You think I may only be one person, but you’ve lost a customer for life, a high paying customer at that, and you’ve forever broken my trust with you.

It’s a little shadier than that. Without the “Last Chance” sale, yes this would have been loosely analogous, but the way the finishers were advertised clearly implied that they were going to become difficult/impossible to acquire.
I didn’t buy any myself, but it’s impressive that ANet have managed to have something even shadier than the two year anniversary of the Infinite Continue Coin being useless this week.
I bought the skritt finisher myself, and while i was willing to part with the gold at the time, it’s a little galling to know that had i not fallen for the hype it would have saved me 100g.
I’m not gonna bother putting in a support ticket, because as i said, i was willing to pay that much for it, but i think i’m gonna tie my purse strings a little more tightly from now on, and i doubt i’ll be buying gems with real money until ANet manages to restore my faith a little.

Maybe update the first post with this info so others can get the hint to do the same thing if they are in a similar case.
Other than that, putting these finishers into blc is really dumb. It doesn’t improve the chests at all, it reduces the worth of those finishers, it doesn’t add anything anywhere. Instead they could have split up those things. Create a new finisher rewardtrack, add one to a new achievement, stuff that actually makes people do stuff. A few months from now these finishers will be available for like 20s on the tp…
Personally, I wait a week or two and buy many of them but that doesn’t make me excited.
It was far better what they did with toxic and scarlet skins. It was a grind not really worth it but it made me appreciate those skins.
