Q:

I crafted the Experimental Pistol Barrel , Experimental Pistol Frame and the Legendary Inscription during my journey. But I never checked the whole process of crafting legendary in details on wiki.

I looked at these items and it only says it is a part of collections, not crafting materials. So i deleted/sold them to the npc merchants just like what I did to other items of collections.

And of cause I’m now super regret and frustrated. I never believed this is a game can’t be played without reading info out of the game. Is there anything I can do to?

Contact support by making a ticket and talk to them. They can usually give you those types of items back.

Top of page (right): submit a request.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet may give it to you.

How can you vendor/delete these? They clearly say crafting material (ingame, too). The inscription is even tradeable on the trading post.

They are both listed as “Crafting Material: Huntsman” and come from the same box of recipes as the weapons they are used to craft.

On the other hand it is extremely weird that these important items have a vendor price while actual useless items require you to type the name to delete.

It is horribly inconsistent

I’d like to see:

  • Required stuff is always ‘legendary’ or even a special category and always requires typing to delete. Never a vendor value.
  • Non required stuff is always less than exotic, has a vendor value, and explicitly says, “this item can be safely torn, spindled, sold, or mutilated — it has served its purpose”
John Smith: “you should kill monsters, because killing monsters is awesome.”

As mentioned above, CS usually can help you there. If you remember the date and time you deleted/sold them, it may help them verify your claim quicker.

And as Maledikus and Khisanth have pointed out, they aren’t labelled as collection items. Item that you can safely vendor/sell usually have “This item only has value as part of a collection” in its description.

Safest thing to do is to hold on to the collection items until you reach the next precursor tier. Or you can type /wiki <name of item> to bring up the wiki page in game to double check.

You can also /wiki then shift+click all the items. Much faster and more accurate than typing out a bunch of item names.
