Anet adds a lot of items in gemstore which i’d like to buy but their implementation restrain me to do it. Home Portal Stone, Infinite gathering tools are account bound but untransferable between alt characters (Account Bank storage is not an option for items that have to be transfered pretty much everytime you load a character).
So we need an “account bag slot” for a bag which shares his content amongst all characters equiped with such a bag. Xunlai Electrum Lingot seems to be clue that Anet will add this feature with level 500 jewelcrafting.
When this feature will be added I’ll have to buy a lot of things :
- 900gems for Home Portal Stone
- 3000gems for all three infinite gathering tools
- 800gems for Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matic
That’s 4700gems and maybe more for Banker Golem and Captain Air ship Pass.
The question is how much time do we have to earn all thoses gems ?

What does the Xunlai Electrum Ingot have to do with an account bag?

Tin Foil [HATS]-Hardcore BLTC-PvP Guild
Bloin – Running around, tagging Keeps, getting whack on Scoobie Snacks.

Xunlai was the Guild providing account bank service in GW1, and electrum sounds like an Asuran technology. For what such a material should be used ? → an account bag.

I’m not sure why you would need a Home Portal Stone on more than one character, but sharing others tools, etc. is often requested.

More than one character may need to return home and then go back to where they were before. Or am I missing the purpose of the stone?

The stone deposits you in your home instance, which contains 1/day harvesting nodes, a couple of basic merchants and the skill point commune. You’d never need to go there with more than one toon per day. The ‘exit’ point of the home instance will not send you to the respective city, but instead back to your original location. It’s not a ‘fast-travel’ stone, it’s a link to an instance of your ‘home’ from your current world position.

^This. I guess….maybe….you might want to visit a merchant to sell? with another character, but they are usually pretty common out and about the open world. I’m not even sure if every HI has a merchant. I don’t use merchants there.

They don’t and there’s some uproar about it. Paying the same amount of gems and not being able to get the same resources. Asura and Sylvari have one or no services in their home instance (I forget which has one and which has none). Whereas humans have all but like the bank and trading post).

People still in the early stages of the personal story on more than one character (new accounts more likely here than old) and even then only for the means of getting there quicker.

Well, like I said….I’m not sure anyone would want to have a Home Instance Stone for every character. There are merchants aplenty in the Open World.

But, each person has their own desires. /shrug

I personally don’t have a reason to get one. I can’t afford to buy gems and don’t have enough gold to turn into enough gems for a node let alone the home instance stone.

And even if I did have a few nodes, I likely wouldn’t need a stone at all. It’s not that expensive or long to enter the home instance.

And where did I say that it had to?

All I said is that I don’t have a stone and I don’t have a reason for one mostly due to financial reasons. And in my other posts in this thread, I’ve stated reasons for needing them on more than one character, so I’m obviously not against it.
