Account Bound Birthday Blaster?
Do you share your IRL birthday gifts with all your friends or do you keep them to yourself?
I agree with Fluffy there, actualy. I think that not only should they be account bound, but better yet – they should be mailed to every character, including newly created ones. because its not my individual characters alone that are having a birthday, its my entire account.
so limiting them to specific characters is like only letting me use my birthday gift (lets pretend that gift is a mp3 player for instance – something portable) in specific rooms instead of just being able to take it everywhere.

Anet has done character birthdays for the better part of the last decade. They have not done account birthdays.

doesn’t mean we can’t wish for that to change. plus many of the birthday rewards ARE account bound, rather then just character bound.

Account bound because the systems in place for those items are account bound. Keep in mind how many people complained about the 1st year birthdays when receiving duplicate copies of the Queen Jenna mini.

Unless someone has multiple personality disorder each of your chars are you, the player. In addition, every item in each of the 3 birthday gifts are account bound except this one item, which is soulbound (except maybe a skill point scroll in the second year). It’s not unreasonable to ask that this item follow the same rules as the rest of the birthday gift items.
ANet may give it to you.

I can’t speak for fluffy, but in my household gifts tend to be movies, chocolate or alcohol, so, um… SHARE!
Also, it’s a sharing gift. It’s purpose is literally to fire cakes at people.

The primary gifts for years 1 and 3 might be delivered to an individual character, but they are not solely usable by that character. Only year 2 has been soul-bound.

That’s because they are part of systems which are account bound (i.e. wardrobe). Miniatures themselves have also always been account wide (or no restrictions at all) regardless of the wardrobe.

True, but that really just suggests that ANet designers will make matters inconvenient, unless a system supplants that inconvenience. It’s not like they had to flag it soul-bound.

Obviously you used the straight to lvl 20 booster on the same toon?
and you keep the money and tokens in separate wallets on each toon? (this used to be the case when GW2 started)
I don’t see a problem in altering this item to account bound, except it might take them a few years to achieve that.
I think I have the birthday blaster now on 11 or 12 characters, I doubt it is usefull to swap ’m around, If you have content you think could use it use a older char…
Been There, Done That & Will do it again…except maybe world completion.
It’s not a big deal for me, because the birthday blaster is a silly (but fun!) toy to goof around with occasionally, but I don’t see any reason for it to be account bound, either. Generally, I think soulbinding is okay on ( < ascended) weapons/armor, and beyond things should just be account bound.

Nailed it. “They’re not 2 years old!” isn’t a sensible reason to prevent me from passing the birthday blaster around.
