Account Wallet for Currency

Keep all of your currencies in one easy-to-find location! This Wallet holds dungeon tokens, coins, karma, laurels, Guild Commendations, Fractal Relics, Badges of Honor, gems, and glory and makes them accessible to any character on your account. Upon logging in with each unique character for the first time after the Wallet has gone live, that character will have all of their currencies deposited into the account-wide collection.

My only question would be whether or not it knows to clean out your bank tabs as well as your character…?

I hope there’s no stack limit for tokens, neither. I’d love if the game automatically converted the item currencies into non-item versions of the same thing.

Yeah the stack limit is key here.

The wallet itself is good – having it accessible for all characters at anytime is convenient.

But for stuff like badges or tokens, I do hope they have an unlimited stack. But I recall that there was to be a gem store item that increases your stack limit (datamined a few months back). So I’m not sure.

But either way, it’s an improvement.

The gemstore item could be for your bank items specifically (lot of us collect stacks of mats for crafting).

Just caught the ‘karma’ part of that wallet description. If they actually roll all of my char karma into one pool which I can build/withdraw from on any character… Oh gods what an improvement. Gimme!

I wonder, if karma becomes account bound, will karma jugs still need to exist? They could always remove karma jugs from the game, and add direct karma points to your account.

The only thing I’m not crazy on being in it is the coins (a little ironic, I suppose, as it is a wallet ) as I find it a nice thing to keep track of how much each character has “earned” but overall it’s a brilliant improvement so I don’t care.

Pooled karma alone will make such a difference, I can just chug those 200+ karma items I have stored all at once without wondering if some other character might need them more in the future!

True, but stacking jugs and clicking 300 times is not exactly better game design than directly getting the points account-wide. The later is more streamlined.

Hmmm… that’s a good point… we could even log in that day and find that they’ve already quaffed all our jugs and added them to the pile o’ karma!

We might need to drink ’em ourselves to maximise the karma gain.

Still though, I hope they don’t remove them. I kinda like ’em. I think karma jugs and other karma items are a nice “physical” reward like loot bags.

I also like opening things, but I prefer opening loot bags with unexpected surprises the moment I get then, than cluttering my bank with 10 different types of karma items while waiting for the next opportunity to maximize karma gain and click 300 times to consume them all in one go.

Anet doesn’t even needs to remove those items from our bank. They can simply remove them as rewards, and add direct karma instead.

Macro key to double click those jugs. That is allowable since 1 double is technically 1 keystroke. So you just macro the key and hold the kitten down. (Its how I open stacks of bags without giving myself carpel tunnel). ALthough, Im happy with Karma being direct deposited, although I dont see them doing away with the jugs anytime soon.

So, question about this wallet….when they say ‘coins’ do they mean gold, silver, copper? And if so, hows that going to affect the storage of money in the bank? Will that simply be removed? Will it be treated sort of like a ‘savings account’ to refill your wallet (checking account) when you exhaust your allotted funds? Hmmm…

Don’t look at me like that. Whatever you’ve heard, it’s probably not true.

Have you ever considered using Karma on the Lost Orrian Jewelry Boxes?

Anet doesn’t even needs to remove those items from our bank. They can simply remove them as rewards, and add direct karma instead.

That’s gonna kitten off pretty much everyone who likes hoarding their karma. After all, if you get it directly added, I won’t even have the choice to use a Karma Booster, Ice Cream and a Guild Karma Boost on it. And considering that those add up to over +60% karma, that’s a ton of Karma lost.

Macro key to double click those jugs. That is allowable since 1 double is technically 1 keystroke. So you just macro the key and hold the kitten down.

Actually, that is not allowed. There is no “technically”, if you’re getting more than 1 action/click per 1 action/click, it’s not allowed. In case you’re doubting me, check out this post by Gaile.

I like the jugs but I have a problem in judging how much I need on any given character an often overshoot.

Wow so nice. Now I’m really curious where the wallet will be stored.

I’m hoping the karma jugs are put on there as jugs and you can still drink them separately. It would cause massive karma loss if they did it for you without the boosters.

I guess this means I don’t have to go to the bank and deposit my money each day. Another nice feature.

Edit: after reading it again, I think the jugs of karma are not deposited. That you still get them and have to drink them separately. After you drink them then they go into the karma pool.

Yes, in the end, it’ll mean a bit less karma nonetheless, but I’d take better game design over higher numbers.

I’d rather this stuff just act like our crafting materials. Separate bank collection tab, can be accessed from anywhere. Like a crafting table allows use of banked materials, so too should vendors allow use of banked dungeon tokens and the like.

To have each character carry a wallet with this stuff seems cumbersome.

A bit less?

Take the jugs, for example. You can get a maximum of 40 in a month. Currently, it’s perfectly possible for you to hoard the mall and get (in my case) +63% Karma on it, for a total of 65.2 jugs’ worth of Karma.

If they changed it, I sure as hell could not afford (nor would it be practical) to use those boosters on anything but the day I complete my monthly. Since I have a passive +3%, that would mean I’d be getting 29.87 from the 29 days, plus 17.93 from the day I complete my monthly on, for a total of 47.8.

That’s a total of 78,300 Karma lost.

While I agree that Karma becoming account bound makes the jugs less helpful for people with alts, they sure as hell are not obsolete.

Been playing since launch and I am finally 10g away from the title. Don’t scare me like this.

Besides the speculation, this announcement has to be the best QoL improvement I have heard of. I am so happy this will be implemented.
Now if only the gemstore item we heard of long ago to increase max stacks to 500 is also made available… I will have room for the increase in crafting level. All crafting professions maxed means that I am holding on to my base recipe materials and extra mats. I am running out of room on a bank that has the slots maxed.
At least the wallet removing tokens, relics, and all other currencies will ease the strain on my bank

I don’t think the account wallet will be much like the current storage we are used to with 250 stack limit. I’m thinking it will be unlimited system like the Karma limit that goes well beyond 250, 250k, and 1 million+ karma that we have now.

I’m pretty sure the jugs of karma are going nowhere.

If they DID remove them, they’d have to find replacement effects for all of the karma boosters you can get in the game. This includes ones you can buy from the gem store, food bonuses (that require crafting to make) and guild banner bonuses (that have to be earned and paid for by the guild).

This would create a huge mess and a ton of extra work that will, no matter what they do, kitten off a lot of people. The easy answer is to just leave things as they are, and keep the jugs.
