i hadn’t thought much on this topikittenil earlier today, when my boredom of my guardian reached it’s peak. I don’t know what compelled me to make a human to begin with, i think it was the t3 armor. I’ve been leveling an asura guardian recently and enjoy the character model/animation/voice files much better. I really wanted to main this new guardian, but my human guard has so much invested into him (highest tier fractal back, sunrise, 5 armor sets one of which is t3, etc.) everything i can replace easily, but i dont really want to work on another sunrise!

My question is this, is there any news/intention to make legendarys account bound? I know people would once do the white-swap trick but since they have ascended stats now, it doesn’t seem at all worth it. Is this something that’s being considerd? thanks!

The white swap still works, you just need to use a transmutation splitter instead.

But I agree completely, I’d love to see Legendaries become account bound along with a lot of other things.

But I’d have to white swap to an ascended greatsword, yes? Would the ability to swap stats whenever i wanted still exist on my sunrise? these are things i dont want to lose, which would make it easier with just having legendaries be account bound xD come on anet, the time (and for some of us, money) invested into these weapons is surely enough to have them account bound.

the procedure for white swapping? you transmute a weapon skin onto the stats of a white weapon bought at a weaponsmith, and the item is then account bound.
example, molten greatsword, exotic, transmute to a white greatsword, it has the appearance of molten greatsword, but it’s got the stats of a level 80 account bound white greatsword. i just dont feel like doing dodgey stuff like this for a legendary though, you know?

Using the transmutation splitter in the white sword once your desired character has it will yield a full fledged legendary with swappable stats and all. I’ve done it three times now (can’t decide whether to main Guardian or Warrior).

Oh dude, thank you so much. Not as convenient as just having them be account bound, but this helps me lots. Thanks.

Oh and just an FYI, you will loose any sigils/ transfusions on the swap.

You can also move your fractal capacitor as well using the same method.
