So this is something I’ve wanted for a long time, yet as far as I know has never been talked about (please correct me if I’m wrong on that). It’s account bound waypoints in a way where you would still have to earn it.

What I’m thinking is to get another Central Tyria based mastery for waypoint sharing that once acquired, would unlock the same waypoints on all of your characters once they hit level 80, and by no means sooner.

This would be a huge boon for those like me who find world completion related tasks a chore to do multiple times for multiple characters. This way you could take all of your characters to the same content zones once they hit 80 for things like dungeons, world bosses, champ trains, etc.

Anyone else think something like this could be possible and would want it to be?

You would have to adjust map completion as those waypoints presently provide 2 gifts of exploration, per character who completes them.

There’s world completion for Legendaries to consider. After the first time you would have a good part already done even if your char was a only few minutes old and used tomes to 80 at the bank. It could then leap from waypoint to waypoint getting things fast.

I understand that issue, and I’m sure a workaround could be found with enough time for development. Even if one wasn’t found though, would that necessarily be seen as a negative aspect since it would instead make the prospect of doing world completion and the journey for a legendary more enticing to players who are more casual not in just their regular gaming attitude, but in the time that they are able to play?

I would love to see this implemented! Hell, I would pay cash money to unlock all the waypoints account wide. It would certainly encourage me to dust off my alts a lot more often.

Do we really need to have the world completion part of making a Legendary face role easy?

Because of the HUGE mat/gold expenditure involved, unlocking all the waypoints account wide would hardly put a dent in bringing someone closer to acquiring their legendary. It would be purely a QOL upgrade and more than welcomed for the veterans who have their legendary(s) and are ‘retired’ from the chase.

This idea has been suggested and discussed a number of times already. Maybe, if it has certain restrictions

My opinion
One, it’s optional. Some people like to explore and do world completion, including waypoints.
Two, it’s activated on a character only basis. Not a complete across the account basis
Three, if that character has it it can not do map completion and get any sort of map completion rewards, including the one for the Legendaries.

I could only support having 1 or 2 WP max in each zone being “account bound” so that you don’t have to walk to the zone in order to start exploring. But certainly not unlocking all WPs on all of your characters once you complete a mastery track.

This alone would be a huge boon for a large chunk of the population. It could be the one nearest to a dungeon or world boss (dependent on the map) and then one at one of the entrances to the zone.
