Q:

I know that you have the “/age” but I find it tedious that I have to try and calculate what day I first created my gw2 account. Is there a more accurate way to see what day God gave me the gift of True Life, aka “Guild Wars 2”

I mean, it’s not THAT much work to go to google and type “1337 days ago” and click the first result…

I’ll just check when I took my first screenshot.

You can see the last time you changed your password, which if you’ve never done, would be the day you registered.

For me, that just shows a page that says something about ‘redirect’.

No, there isn’t another way within the game.

You can use a site such as GW2 Efficiency, which does the math for you (but you have to supply them with your secure API key, so their software can look up your account/characters).

Or keep track on a post it or other tool.

It seems you would only have to do it once; how tedious can that be? It’s not like character age/creation.

I’ve no idea of all my character creation dates; just my first one, which is the same as the account creation date: Aug. 25th, 2012.

I keep a cheat sheet in Word that lists vital statistics for each alt. Creation date, RP birthday, preferred trait setup, which Order they’re in, which race they studied, what PS step they’re on (if not done), how many bags of which type they have, etc. It’s actually a fairly short entry per alt. It took a little while to solidify the dates for the older ones as I didn’t start this at launch but I did the calculation the OP complains about, and used in-game birthday gifts as signals to check them.

As to overall account, well, it’s pretty easy for me to remember Aug 25 2012 (or maybe Aug 24 since they launched 3 hours ahead of schedule — and hmm, perhaps I made the account during beta o.O ) Perhaps the OP can check his/her bank or credit card records or email confirmations for the payment date?

It’s the background data from the account page, so you need to be logged in.

The thing is in Jan 2014 ANet had some security update and required everyone to change their passwords, iirc. I doubt anyone has nonstop used the same one since Aug 2012.

Pretty sure I’m logged in to post.

But, I, like others, have the ‘redirect to Support’ bug, as well. No biggie.

You have to log in to the My Account page not just the forum. Then if you follow the link Healix provided it provides a bunch of code and in that it says the last time you changed your password. As noted I think Anet forced a password change for accounts using passwords prior to password blacklisting a few years ago so it may not be an accurate measure of account age created before that.

The forum log-in is the same as the ‘My Account’ log-in.

I’m sure most people don’t get an error using the ‘Support’ link, either. Lol.

The credentials are the same but it doesn’t automatically log you into My Account when you log into the forum. It is a separate login as Healix stated here.

I have tested it. You can log into the forum but still have to log in again if you go to the MY Account link. The same thing with the leaderboard. You have to log into each separately, they don’t carry over. Lol.

Ahh, but you don’t have to log into the Forums from ‘My Account’. I guess it’s one-way, only.

Thanks for the info. =)
