I’m sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, I couldn’t find an apropriate one (also sorry for the bad english).
It’s the third day in a row that I get mail from people I don’t know, claiming to be GMs and saying that my account will be shut down within 72 hours, unless I click a certain link in particular. Of course I’m no stupid, I reported them every time, but they don’t stop and this is starting to get annoying. Could ANET do something about this? The absence of this kind of people trying to “hack” others was one of the reasons I bought a nice MMORPG instead of playing free ones..

It’s not a player that’s sending you this.
It’s a bot.
Just report,block,and move on.

Do people just ignore the whole “Note : This message was sent by another player. It was not sent by the Guild Wars 2 Team.” ?

That is like the biggest indication to ignore the mail.

Yeah most people tend to ignore that obvious message on bottom of the mail.

I didn’t ignore the note, that’s how I knew the mail wasn’t real
Yup, just saw the note at the forums haha sorry for posting this anyway, thanks to all that tried to help

Its’ reported multiple times every day.
Those that don’t read the whole e-mail and visit the site and get hacked only have themselves to blame.

Maybe if sticky thread was at the top or bottom of the list of threads and had ALERT or SCAM in caps it might catch more people’s attention and this wouldn’t get posted like two time a day.

People wouldn’t read it just like the obvious note at the end of the in-game mail that says the message is from another player.

Sorry, not sorry. If someone can read a note from Larry McRusky that ends with a very obvious disclaimer explaining it is not from an actual ANet employee, and still think it’s possibly real, they deserve everything that happens to them as a result.
